Barbell Equipment

Hi there,

I love working out with Cathe's strength videos, and I have my own barbell. I've noticed that Cathe and her cast have barbell pads they can put on the middle of the bar during squats, etc. Does anyone know where I could purchase a pad like those. My barbell is not that comfortable on its own on my shoulders after a few reps.

Hi there Fitgal! I don't know if you have this store but in Chicago there is a store called The Sports Authority and you can buy two different sized of pads. The smaller one runs about 14.96 so I gather the larger one would be about 10 bucks more. There website is "Thesportsauthority.com". Sportmart may have them as well.

If you want to save money (don't we all?), you can go to Home Depot and buy foam pipe insulation, and cut a piece the length you want. It usually comes in 3 - 4 foot pieces, so if you wear one piece out, you can cut another!

What is the insulation covered with? Just wondering if will need to be covered with something before you use it? Is it covered with something or is it just foam?
