Back from D-Land -- broke, but happy!

Hey folks --

We got back from Disneyland Saturday night. My daughter had the time of her life, and just seeing her smile and laugh makes me cry with joy. We had the best time!

We had pictures taken with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Pluto, Ariel, Jasmine, Cinderella, and Snow White. She was just at 40" tall, so we went on quite a few big rides and Megan loved them!!! She loved the Matterhorn and the Big Thunder Mtn Railroad. And the Nemo ride! We did both Disneyland and California Adventure -- we saw Playhouse Disney Live in the CA Adventure park - that was a must! Also, the big ferris wheel and the Monsters Inc Ride. But we spent most of our time in the main park. Rode Pirates of the Carribean 3 times... that was Mom's choice, not Meg's choice (Hello, Johnny Depp fan since age 13!).

So, pretty much my whole tax rebate check went for food, souveniers, more food, clothes and gifts for family, and more food (has anyone been in their candy shoppes? How can you resist???)

Good news! I worked out 4 days during the week. I used the hotel elliptical for a half hour each time. Better than nothing, and I'm pretty proud of that. I went for my first post-vacation run this morning and it was hard... but do-able. I did Push-Pull this afternoon and I still have my strength. :)

So now, I need to get back to the clean eating -- too many brownies and french fries and other yummy stuff. I actually looked forward to my bowl of Kashi this morning! :)

I run a marathon in 18 weeks! Wish me luck!
Take care and enjoy the rest of your holiday!

Sounds like a great time! We went to Disney World 4 years ago and it is expensive for food!! Sounds like fun though!

Have fun getting back to clean eating and good luck w/ your marathon! Which one are you running??

My absolute favorite thing about Disneyland is watching the children - doesn't even have to be my own children !

I think the place is magical.

Glad you had a great time - hope the CA weather treated you well.

Sounds like everyone had a great time, Charlene. I completely forgot that the old Submarine ride has been recently revamped into the Nemo ride. I meant to check it out last time I visited a couple of months ago. How was it?

Anyway, enjoy eating your own food again! :9

Welcome back Charlene!! I'm glad you had a nice time at Disney, and I can't think of a better way for a family to spend their tax rebate!

Good luck with your marathon and keep us posted on your training!
