August Road Trippers - Tuesday, 7/15

Liann

Cathlete
Just getting us started today. I did some laps in the pool last night and have a leg workout on tap for tonight. DH is going away for a business trip Thursday, so I plan to get lots of workouts in while he is gone. ;) Hope you are all having a good Tuesday!

Hi Liann! Is this a regular check-in now? I looked for it a couple times and didn't see it.

Loved your pics on the Open forum, by the way.

I did Rhythmic Step yesterday (love that one!) and today is Amy Bento's Slo-Mo Back & Shoulders. I'm still sore from Saturday's workout of S&H Biceps & Triceps--man, that one was killer.

Good morning, Liann and Lainie! How are you both doing today?

Liann -- Great idea about squeezing in those workouts while your DH is gone! Have you thought anymore about the Vet Tech program? :)

Lainie -- I don't have Amy's Slo-Mo -- do you like it? :)

Catherine -- Glad that your back is doing better, and that you had a great massage yesterday! That sounds heavenly!

Leanne - I just sent all my college transcript requests in and called my HS to get them to send transcripts as well. I also called the Purdue admissions office and they said it was fine to submit my application without the transcripts - just to write that they were on their way. So, I'll try to get that overnighted today and then I'll just wait to see what I hear back. The deadline for the application is Friday, so I should at least get it to them by then. If I was taking the course on campus there would be a good chance I wouldn't get in, because they only have 30 spots period. By taking the classes through their distance program though, that isn't an issue. So, it will just come down to whether I have enough of general courses to qualify for the program. My fingers are crossed.

Lainie - It is a regular check-in that took a hiatus while I was gone on vacation. Not necessarily because I was gone, it just happened to fade out during that time and I wasn't around to keep nudging it up to the top. ;)

Liann -- That's great! Right after I posted on here, I went back and saw on your thread that you had been worried about the transcripts. I'm sure that all will go smoothly! How exciting to be starting this program!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, too, that all will go well! :)

Hi ladies!!

I am getting so excited. I printed all my stuff today for the RT and called to get my confirmation # from the Fairfield Inn. I was a little nervous because when I initially made the reservation, the guy didn't ask me for any credit card info to hold the room, any contact info, nor did he give me a confirmation #. Last year I received about three emails from them. One immediately after I had made the reservation. Odd... The girl gave me a confirmation # though so I guess I'm all set. I could always sleep in my car if I had to!!;-)

I did PUB last night and I'm really feeling it today. I did the lying down portions on my stability ball instead of the bench or step. It was a nice change. Tonight is a CC on my stationary bike. Not sure which one though. I've been debating on buying an elliptical machine. I was going to get a pass to my local gym to try out a CC on one of their ellipticals to see if I like it, but I haven't done it yet. DH said to me last night "why not just wait until you are at Cathe's gym and try it out there?" At first I thought it was GENIUS. Then after a few minutes I thought "CRAZY"!!! I don't think squeezing in another workout that weekend would be wise!

Have a great rest of the day everyone!

I enjoyed Slo-Mo Back & Shoulders today. I can't believe I hadn't done the Slo-Mo workouts since shortly after they came out--I still haven't ever done the Legs part (will do it Thurs.)

Leanne, so yeah, I like Slo-Mo (what I’ve done of it). I prefer it to her APX, for sure. It’s slower like S&H, but not quite that slow, and she doesn’t take a 1-minute rest between sets. So you’re still lifting somewhat slow and heavy, but it’s different enough that I won’t be bored. Then I’ll do S&H again next week.

Melissa, I’m getting very excited, too, though a bit nervous. I’ve started making up my RT binder. I still need to print a few things out. I now have someone to carpool with, so I don’t have to drive and we can split the fuel costs. Cheapie DH is pleased about that. I hope she’s a good driver. :)

Oh, by the way, I started a little forum and you're welcome to visit when these forums go down for a few days. It's at http://fitnessfig.forumer.com I don't know if I'll keep it up forever, but started it mainly for Catheites to use while the website's down.
