ATTN: Bagel Lovers

I try to watch my carbs, but let's face it, I'm in love with my bagels still! For those who havent seen Thomas' Carb Counting bagels at your local grocery store, they're pretty good. I had one (whole wheat) with 2 Tablespoons of fat free cream cheese the combined nutritional info came out to be....

170 cals, 2 fat, 23 carbs, 6 fiber, 16 protein.

Overall, not too bad in my opinion. Just wanted to pass the info along.

Hi Stacy,

Thanks for the info!! I love bagels. If you add some smoked salmon along to that, you can up the protein and get some good omega-3 oils. :9

Thanks for the info! I love bagels! I have been eating the Lower Carb wheat bread from Nature's Own, but I have never seen the Thomas Low Carb bagel! I will definitely look for them! And.....I have smoked salmon in the fridge, so I will try that on it with the cream cheese. Sounds yummy!

Do you know if they have a website? I can't seem to find one. Also, do you know the main ingredients? Is it true WW flour or enriched flour? Or maybe neither? :) Thanks!

Colleen

The first ingredient listed is "whole wheat flour", then water, wheat protein isolate, oat fiber, etc. They're cholesterol free as well. Let me know if you have other questions.

:) Stacy

Good idea about the salmon!

Thanks for posting the ingredients! They sound great! I'll definitely be looking for them. I sure miss my bagels!

I have been praying to the bagel gods that my company makes the jump to a low carb bagel....sales would go throught the roof, and better yet I would be able to eat at work again. Imagine me a bagel lover, manager of a bagel shop, surrounded by MY FAVORITE food and not eating any!! I try to stay away from all those kinds of carbs and somedays the smell of hot, fresh bagels nearly kills me! Here
s hoping they hear me....Donna.

Well, you can sure inhale bagel-aroma all day! That's pretty heavenly and has no carbs or even calories!

Almost forgot mogambo, you ARE the "inhalent eater".....I do that too, cuts carbs considerably and doesn't raise the insulin levels, but at times can leave you with an empty feeling :) :) :)
