ATT: EVERYONE for DAILY CALORIC INTAKE

Hey fitness friends! I have been receiving numerous emails on how to find out how many calories one should be consuming on a daily basis! I thought that it would be easier to start a new thread so that "everyone" can have this information available to them and help them reach their fitness goals! I'm gonna copy and paste the one that I always use that has been successfull to many! I have been training my girlfriend who personally lost 84 lbs in 10 months and 1 week --no diet pills--just proper nutrition and exercise! So I know it works--you just have to calculate and be smart on your food planning around the activities you have planned for the day! http://www.musclespot.com/bmr.html the other website is a calculator that you just enter your info---this is easier if you just don't want to calculate to give you an idea of where you should be http://library.thinkquest.org/10991/bmr.html?tqskip1=1&tqtime=1005 Wow that second website address don't look to good--if the site don't come up I'll forward it to you or just try to copy and paste it again--I'm soo bad on this computer! I hope this was helpful!Take care! Your friend in fitness~~Francine

Thanks Francine, the second link address works I have just tried it out and I am finding the links very interesting.

many thanks

Anna

Hi Francine,

So, basically, you just adjust your calorie intake, depending on how active a day your having ?

Anna

Hi Anna! Nice to meet you! Thanks for checking out the sites and letting me know they went through ! This info is extremely important especially when weight changes--you have to recalculate to keep the calorie intake and metabolism working steadily! You can also check some added info I suggested on a post from Lisa on the ASK CATHE it's under "Can't Lose weight!" You are correct in stating that you adjust your calorie intake depending on your activity for the day! It's not just what you eat, it's when you eat too that matters! Have a wonderful day today! Hi Francine,

Sorry ! Another question ! Just wondering about the times of the day you should and shouldn't eat. Is it basically, try not to eat in the evening, as the closer you get to bedtime, your metabolism slows down ?

Anna

Hi Anna! Since schedules vary, it's basically planning your calories around your activities for the day and spreading them out thoughfully! A good rule of thumb is always ask your self the question -what will I be doing in the next 2-3 hrs? It's easier to make your adjustments that way! As for not eating before bedtime, it is always better to steer clear of sugar and alcohol and fast 2 hrs prior to sleeping! By fasting you will be improving your body's ability to produce growth hormone--a function that occurs primarily when we sleep!A sound nights rest has been shown to contribute to better growth hormone production! By working toward increasing your body's natural growth hormone production you will find your natural energy replenished and your natural fat-burning abilities rejuvenated!I hope this was helpful! Take care!Your friend in fitness~~Francine
