Assisted Dip and Chin Machine

Will there be an alternative way to do these exercises other than using the Assisted Dip and Chin Machine?

The idea is to die young as late as possible.
 
We really don't expect hardly anyone to have an Assisted Dip and Chin Machine. You just do any of the the other Pull Up options that are shown
 
I thought so, but just wanted to know for sure. Thank you for the quick response. I didn't think anyone would be up this late. You guys are busy! I do appreciate all the work you do.

Chris, I have a Pull Up Tower but cannot do one pull up or chin up. Will there be anyone demonstrating a cheat pullup/chin up with a chair? Just curious as I have a hard time trying to figure out how to do it but feel I could follow along with someone showing one. TIA!

We're not going to show a person doing a cheat pull up with a chair, but that is a perfectly fine option too. Fitness Anywhere also makes a very inexpensive strap for doing a pull up. They had a very nice booth at the Club Industry Show that Cathe and I went to this weekend demonstrating their devise.

There are many ways to do a pull up and many devices that can help you, even if you can’t do one vertical pull up. We realized that when we made STS that Pull Ups are a fantastic exercise that unfortunately not very many people are capable of doing.We have included them in the STS workout because they’re so beneficial, but we have been careful not to make them a major focus of the workout. We hope STS will lead to other products, like our patent pending pull up tower being made to help the home exercisers achieve success by doing pull ups.
 
Thanks, I will check out the strap. Can you use it with the Pullup Tower? Even though I can't do a pullup, just trying works so many muscles so sometimes, I pretend I am doing one even though my body doesn't move! :7 I am very glad you added them into STS just so I will keep attempting to do one. The Fitness anywhere product wouldn't help you with a pull up tower, but another person posted several weeks ago about "iron Woody bands" that could. I haven't used these, but they seem like a cheap way to help anyone do a vertical pull up.

Not the strap, but you can easily use a kitchen chair for help with a Pullup tower. Just put one or both feet on the chair (chair close with bent legs is most help, chair farther away with straight legs least amount of help). That's how I did most of my pull-ups and chin-ups when doing P90X (which has a LOT of them in).

The same method works for a doorway chinning bar.

Debbie, I use Superbands (similar to Iron Woody Bands) on a doorway pullup bar. They are giant rubber bands. I don't see why they wouldn't work with the pullup towers that I've seen. You'd just loop the band through itself to secure it.

Since I've never done an unassisted pullup or chinup, the Superband is very empowering.

I am the one who mentioned iron woody bands. I got the pull up set which is 3 different levels. I am planning on using them with the cathe pull up apparatus, by kneeling in the band

I did get the Woody Band puul-up set and I am using only the smallest 2 or the least resistance. You don;t need the 3rd one unless you really need a lot of assistance.
I love them by the way. Good luck.
 
I also have the iron woody bands and got all three. I am still using the biggest one and standing in it. I need a lot of assistance. I would think if you cannot do pull up then getting all three bands is the best way. You can graduate up to the next level but I am not there yet.

Thanks Debra! I'll look up the Superbands. Anything that will get this body to budge on a pull up is a good thing. Thanks for the advice!

Joanna, Christiane & Rhonda, thanks for the tip on the woody bands. I've never seen them before. Sounds like I might need all three to start at the easiest level and hopefully, I will eventually graduate to the least resistant level. Thanks bunches!!!

Katherine, the Superbands are a Perform Better product. Do some comparison shopping with the Iron Woody bands. I have the 2" Superband but I think you're stronger.

I hope that I'll be able to use a chair for assistance at the point that the Superband is too much assistance (not a factor yet).

I use the Superband during the first round of Chest & Back, & then switch to heavy tubing for the second round. The tubing allows for more reps & better range of motion. I try to follow Debbie Stout's advice & really work the negative.
