I saw these today on sale at Bed Bath and Beyond. I've seen the infomercial and of course everyone is chiseled from using them :p I ws wondering if any of you out there have them/use them. My husband wanted to get them bacause they were on sale, but I convinced him to wait until I heard feedback from the forums.

Let me know what you think of them. Thanks.

Carmen.

I'm sorry... but you're kidding, right?

This has to be one of THE most ridiculous products ever perpetrated on the excercising public. Don't waste your money! Please!

I thought it was on of those "fake" commercials when I first saw it. I was sure it was a parody of something!

My mind is always in the gutter when I see these. I'm convinced they were invented by a pervert. I could be wrong. I was surprised when I went to a friends house and she had one of those. I just left it alone.

Saturday Night Live did a spin-off commercial on this same product. It was pretty funny and ridiculous( just like the original infomercial)!

Yeah- I think it might be most useful for people in very specific professions!:rolleyes::p:eek:

It's almost redundant to spoof this commercial, because the original is so bizarre.

Here's the actual commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOGO57eM304&feature=related

And the men's version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbsSeVr5NSI

(Anyone who DOESN'T see the pervy connections here must lead a very sheltered life, LOL!)

IMO, the product might have some benefit for those who are just starting out, but there is no way to change resistance except by doing it for a longer time.

I actually tried one out, and found it uncomfortable to hold.

There is also a really funny South Park episode with the shake weights. My DH and BIL got all of the women one of these as a gag Christmas gift this year and they made this big production out of all of us opening our special gifts at once.

The South Park episode was the first thing I thought of when I read the title of this thread. Its hilarious!!!

I agree with everybody on this thread about the questionable value of "shake weights". One commercial claims that three DVDs were produced to use with this these things. The problem is is that when a new product comes on the market, and only one or a very few DVDs are made to use with them, and these things end up quickly in the closet. I imagine that one could fill an entire house with useless exercize things -- and quite expensive things --that are no longer used.

New products like kettlebells and bodybars are ok, since they have a stream of DVDs coming on to use with them. And besides they are fun to use. But these "shake" thingies? Come on!

Kathryn you have given me alot of viewing material here. I wouldn't waste my money buying this thing, I don't think it really works. I love how these infomercials never show anyone in weight transition rather everyone is already toned. This not show the benefits of using the product. None of these products out there are anything I would use. I have what I need to do Cathe's or any weight training workout and I'm sticking to it :)
