Mine have English names too (our last name is English). Gillian is 4.5 and Andrew (Andy) is 2.5. I'm very, very happy to have one of each!

I have 3 girls - ages 6, 4, and 2.

No future Presidents here.... the oldest wants to be an artist/ballerina/teacher, the middle wants to be a house builder and librarian, and the youngest wants to be Pippi Longstocking.

My husband loves being the only guy - he has 3 "Daddy's girls" who think he is the greatest thing in the world.

It wouldn't let me vote but I have two girls, ages 5 and 6. Very uncommon in my circle of friends because almost all of them have 2 boys.

I haven't read all the posts so this may have been mentioned already, but I've noticed, in ten years of teaching, that I ALWAYS have more boys than girls in my classes. Significantly more. One year (my student teaching year), I had seventeen boys and only four girls.

Hi, Kaya~

I have one girl (9) and one boy (4) too. Do yours fight a lot? Mine will fight like cats and dogs one minute then love each other to death the next. Is that what being a little brother is all about?

I have a daughter that is 22, a daughter 13, daughter & son twins 12, and my baby boy is now 5! We also have two guinea pigs, a bearded dragon, a cat and a dog. A very full family!!!

THANK YOU everyone for your votes..........this was very interesting

So the results are.........as from now:

BOYS - 69

GIRLS - 37

plus an assortment of male and female cats, dogs, lizards, parakeets, rabbits, hamsters and crabs ( and there were still MORE male pets than females)

Is the phrase "Its a mans world" appropriate? ha ha

You have to stay in shape. My Grandmother started walking when she was 60. Today she is 97 and we don't know where the hell she is! - Ellen DeGeneres

You know it's funny that you'd notice this even on the forum. I've noticed that of all the friends that I have, and relatives, out of....7 children that have been born in the last 5 years, 6 of them were boys, one girl. All of the new arivals in my family have been boys. Just one of my friends as had a girl. And if I go shopping I notice that the boys section is almost always more picked over than the girls. Very odd.

Marion,
Your hunch was right on. There ARE a lot more boys than girls.

(I've got one stepchild who is also a boy, btw).

Marion, I grew up with three brothers and a whole bunch of male cousins. When I found out I was having a boy, I cried. Seriously. But here he is, all of his wonderful 4-year-old self, and MOST days I feel very blessed.:) HOWEVER -- and that is such an ugly word now that I'm typing this up, but I'll say it anyway -- I fear having another child as I most probably will have another boy. I can just feel it.

Yep, from the numbers, it IS a man's world. But that's just numbers. You know what I mean, don'tcha?:)

Hi there

We have five kiddos--3 boys and 2 girls--ages ranging from 10 to 1.5 years.

Interesting that there are so many boys among the Cathe crowd, not that it means anything.:p
