Are your husbands, etc as active as you are?

Merely my curiosity :) My husband is into more lifting, but we would go to the gym together before Aiden was born. Now my husband doesn't get to workout as much due to work and I don't get to the gym so hence Cathe was born in my house. I don't think my husband minds b/c he is usually wiped from work but if it were me I'd lose my mind! It is such a mental and physical release for me.

Nope. My DH thinks I'm nuts for working out as much as I do. He's very thin and he's naturally active - he plays with the kids a lot, does stuff around the house, but no formal exercise.

What kills me is that he is still faster and stronger than me! But I have much more endurance than he does.

My BF is more active than I am, but he only works out twice a week. He owns a tree service so he spends most of his time hanging on a large branch tossing around a chainsaw.

Oh, he's also a firefighter, but those guys aren't very active at all. I think he spends most of his time making pasta when he's in the firehouse. ;)

Nope, he doesn't work out AT ALL except for the occasional mountain bike experience. The really sad thing is that if he decides he needs to lose some weight he just cuts down on his portions and he loses 30 pounds in like 2-3 months. So not fair. He also thinks I'm nuts cause I get up at 3:45a.m. 6 days a week to workout. :D

My DH works out. He does his weights while I do a Cathe vid or sometimes I do weights with him. He also does cardio, sometimes we do it together. A lot of times when I do core workout or a stretch he will join me. He is as active as I am. Or at least we are trying to be. We both just started again recently after a lot of things came up and we had to put a halt to the workouts for awhile. I like having my DH as a workout buddy!:)

I am more "active" than he is in general and I work out more often. Lately he does work out about 4 times per week on average so he is closer than he was in the past!

ah, my husband. He does not work out but he is fit from his stucco and masrony work. He has a problem, though. At least he thinks it is a problem. He cannot gain weight. He is narrow boned and slim with a lean muscular body. He puts away 4,500 calories per day and cannot gain anything. He says that I am "lucky" to be able to look at a brownie and gain 10 pounds. I told him that if he makes me too angry then I am taking him to a weight watchers meeting and will force him tell them his sob story............ see how long they let him live. When he wasn't working last fall due to a dislocated shoulder he still put away the groceries and yet didn't gain a pound. Some problem he has.

My DH used to workout and he is the one who taught me to run. But now he doen't run at all. The funny thing is that if he wanted, he could go run 10 miles right now even though he hasn't run in a long time. Whereas I have to work hard to get there and stay there.

He's owns a lawn-service and that does keep him very busy and active, so I can understand that.

He also thinks I'm very crazy for waking up as early as I do to work out.

no! my DH does nothing! he's is naturally thin and has a good bit of muscle.. no idea how when I have to fight for even 1/4lb of muscle..x( HE is in the military so when the PT test comes up he will run and he can run a mile in 6 mins no problem even if he hasn't ran for months.. sigh.. can't figure that out. He even got a 300 on his PT test.. even guys that work out all the time can't do that so I have no idea how he can do this.. maybe he works out in secret..lol

My DH is lazy lazy lazy! lol He claims that if we had one of those in home gym things he would lift but I don't know...If he's not working he's usually sitting on his butt in front of the tv or the computer...He bowls once or twice a week...that's the extent of his exercise...lol

Mine gets up earlier (4 am) than me to run and/or lift weights. Plus sometimes he'll do one in the morning and one after work. He does this 5-6 days per week, plus does a lot around the house and with the kids. We kind of keep each other in line. He is amazing!

My BF has a pretty physical job so he does a lot of lifting at work. He has a weight bench and an elliptical machine but doesn't use it. He was always really big into sports so he's very fit and very strong. I think he's too skinny but he is trying to lose more weight. But he does it by not eating and it drives me nuts. He can get by with eating one meal a day where I can't last 3-4 hours without nibbling on something. I'm always packing him a lunch and asking if he's eating. Sometimes I feel like his mom!!!x(

No way!x( when dh anmd i started dating, he was big into lifting and running. Over the past several years, he has become very sedentary and does nothing but work and watch tv/computer screen. we both gained weight and got lazy. But no matter how many times i ask him if he wants to do some sort of exercise together, he is not interested. Not motivated i guess. he is very out of shape and i hope one day he gets interested again.

He was, until our son came and now he does nothing but work.:( He has started running -- again. He starts a running program then tires of it, then quits, then restarts... drives me nuts. I hope he can stick to it this time. He used to lift weights, too, but refuses to use my Cathe dvd's. I keep telling him we can always get heavier db's and more plates if he needs it. I don't know what he's so hesitant about. He said something recently about not wanting to die.}(

No way...he used to lift weights, but now he only occasionally works out with the boys. In the summer however, he does swim everynight after work.

He works out pretty much every night. In fact he is in the exercise room doing weights with my son. He was pretting slack up until 2 months ago. He was drinking beer, not very bad but every night. He put on some weight by drinking, no exercising, and bad eating. but now he has lost close to 10 pounds running and lifting weights.

My BF runs a lot! He ran cross country and track in college and is still addicted to it. He is also very narrow boned, tall and very lean. Even though he is lean he does not have a ton of muscle so hes trying to work on building muscle. He doesnt get to the gym to lift weights as much as he should to gain more muscle...but Im so happy that hes active since fitness is so important to me:)

In my dreams maybe. Before we were married (17 years ago) he did work out with his roommates. He has never been active since we've been married. He is overweight and out of shape in a bad way. No, he does not share my enthusiasm for exercise at all, but he never complains about me working out either.

Yeah, right!! Aside from cutting the lawn and walking the dog maybe once or twice a week, the only part of him that gets exercise are his fingers from typing on the computer. You'd think that with all the exercise equipment I have he'd at least pick up a dumbell every once in a while. He could stand to lose some weight, it might help with his snoring and his cholesterol level. But, in all fairness, he does travel quite a lot on business and eats out all the time. But most hotels have health clubs......

As with all of us it's a question of priorities. And, I can't say I don't like it when the kids tell me I'm much stronger than Daddy!

I have to say I really do wish he was. He ran with me the first few years we were married (almost 25 now) but after knee surgery and 30 more lbs he has not exercised much. We battle alot over it. I tell him it would be so good for his bod if he would just do the Nordic track 15 min 3 times a week to keep his joints lubricated. I think my Obsessive Compulsiveness for exercise irritates him. He has had a few problems and is finally seeing a Chripractor. But except for the occasional mountain bike ride (he had to have a new $850 one) he does not do much....wow..wonder why he hurts....:)...Carole

PS...consider yourself lucky if your DH or SO does workout and keep himself in shape...:+ ..Carole
