Are you Ready for some Football!?

K...I know a good band wagon when I see one. I'm actually looking forward to watching the Patriots and the Colts tomorrow! *strange days indeed*:D So who do you like football fans?

How many innings in a football game anyway?:+ :+ :p :+ :7

Hi Laurie,

I'm a huge Colts fan, so that's who I will be cheering for!!
I live in Indianapolis so I am a little biased :)

Becky

Laurie...I am for sure going to watch this game!! I am hoping to see a great one....I don't think I am biased in any way for either team...:)

I can't wait for Patriots-Colts tomorrow! I'm hoping for a close game but my DH thinks the Pats are going to just crush the Colts.:)

Oh, GO PATS!!!! Go PATS!!!

I don't think the Pats are going to crush the Colts. I think it's going to be a tough, nail bitter of a game. I would never underestimate Peyton Manning. Even though I hate the Colts ever since they snuck out of Baltimore in the middle of the night.

Oh I know, Christine. DH and I are both originally from Baltimore so we just cannot bring ourselves to ever cheer for the Colts. It just drives us crazy that they got to keep the name and everything.x(

Um, I don't think I'll be watching this game. Or any game. Football and I do not get along. I'd rather watch paint dry.....

Ditto what she said :p . I'm so lucky to have married a total nerd who has no interest in sports, except boxing. for some strange reason he loves boxing.

Michele...I am the Football watcher in my family! Weird huh?...:)

famousohara...I am also a Packer fan and so is DH.

Okay, gotta ask, Christine and Pippa, why do you hate a team because of most likely the owners decision? I would bet none of the players wanted to move...I ask because I got the same stuff when the Raiders moved...I am not at all a fan of THAT owner but I do feel for the players...just curious...:)

HUGE Eagles fan, bleed Green. Even though they stink out loud right now but you gotta stick with the home team. They better pick up the pace though and show me something for what I'm paying for this NFL ticketx( Definitely going to watch the Pats and Colts tomorrow. DH arranged his flight home so he wouldn't miss it:) I have to pull for the Colts though, sorry. Our neighbor is a Pats fan so we have to have a cheering match;-)

Well...in football you cheer for the team not the players, right? The Colts were Baltimore's team, without any warning(pretty much an unprecedented move) they packed up in the middle of the night and snuck out of town. Baltimore fans had to wait 11 years and endure idiotic comments from Commisioner Paul Tagliabue about how Baltimore wasn't a good football town and could never support a team, that maybe we should spend our money on a museum, before we got the Ravens..who *ahem* did win the Super Bowl...thank you very much, Mr. Commissioner.

Meanwhile, our town's football history is tied to the Colts. The colors, the uniform, their name were picked for Baltimore and their fans. Johnny Unitas, one of the greatest QBs ever, wore that uniform, Baltimore's uniform.

I certainly don't bear any resentment against the Colts' current players. They had nothing to do with it, but I cannot bring myself to want them to win.

ETA: Baltimore got their team by the Modell's moving the Cleveland Browns of that time to Baltimore. We didn't take their name, their colors or anything. Cleveland has their own team now and their fans have gotten to keep their history because Baltimore didn't take that away.

I'm from New England, and I get the DirectTV football package every year just so I can watch the Pats play every week. (Their games aren't televised very often here in Arkansas.x( GO PATS!

We're are actually having a Pats/Colts watching party at our house I think it will be a great game. Then later on Sunday evening root for "AMERICA'S TEAM" GO COWBOYS!

Annette

Thanks for the replies everyone! Interesting stuff. I'll be watching and if I sit through the whole game it'll be a first. I've been reunited with an old friends and he's a huge Patriot's fan, only team, only sport he watches (love that) His excitement for this game has been amusing to me and a little infectious not to mention the fact that I impressed a few client's this week with 'so who do you like on Sunday', admittedly this is all self serving but I have a feeling I'm in for a fun afternoon tomorrow. GO PATS!! (can't believe I just said that:7 )

Thanks Pippa....I completely understand how you feel...I know I have my certain reasons for disliking some teams and I just wanted to see your point...funny as I always feel for the players, but why?..they make huge amounts of money and always seem to get in trouble!! I hope to see a great game tomorrow...

Carole - Exactly what Pippa said is the reason I will not cheer for the Colts. I admire Peyton Manning - I think he's a good man as well as a good player, but I can't cheer for him while he's wearing the Colt's uniform.

We're going to a local Pub to watch, even though the game will be on network tv. We've gone to this pub for every game, so DH thinks if he watches this game from home, then the Pats will lose. He also invited everyone he knows to watch the game there - and I'd be doing the party planning if it were at our house, so I'm happy it's not. :p

Laurie -- with regret I have to say that I'm a die hard Texans fan (boo :-( ). I've been a big fan since the Houston Oilers days (long time ago)! Now --the Colts are in the Texans' division and if the Texans were doing great and had a record that would come "close" to the Colts, I would wish the Patriots to win. But, I really like Peyton Manning and his team and since the Texans are definitely NOT in the running in the division (I think we're like, LAST!), I really hope the Colts win!

I am not a huge football person, although I like to watch the big games. Usually, it is on tv, and I read a book!

We will watch the game today! I think it will be an exciting close game. I am rooting for the Colts!
My son wants the "horseshoe" team to win! For some reason he is an Eagle fan, and my DH, poor guy is a Miami fan,!:(
