Good morning ladies...

Today I am back to the Gym Style week..I will be doing Back, shoulders & Biceps...I didn't get to it yesterday. So, I am squeezing it in today before we go to CCD class. Lauren is taking her 7th grade Confirmation exam tonight. So, I want to help her study this afternoon...

Ok, time to get the kids out of bed! Talk to you all later....

Good morning Kathy, and all! Good luck to Lauren on the big exam tonight!! Hope the studying goes well.

Sounds like you had a nice birthday celebration! I love those gloves! I wear them when I walk and do arm movements like bicep curls, shoulder presses, overhead extensions and kickbacks, etc. It really boosts the cardio effect while doing some nice toning. I also wear them for some kickboxing workouts. Have you used the firewalker loops yet? So nice to not have to tie and untie!

I did tonique 2.2 this morning and Joanne, I burned only 421 calories today, so i'm not sure what boosted me over 500 previously. I'm wondering if I wore weighted gloves for the whole workout or something. Oh well! I felt like I got through it a little better today -- every time I do them they feel better. So, I'm feeling good this Monday morning.

Hottie, are you back home? Tell us all about it. How was the food?

Chris, how was work last night? Easy, hopefully!!

Have a great day!

Hey Beth: Great workout with some awesome calorie burn going on there!!! I use the gloves for those exercises too. I used them today as a matter of fact....No, I haven't used the firewalker loops yet. I haven't done a video with firewalkers in it since I got them. Now, I am looking forward to maybe butts & gutts. What other DVD has firewalkers? Can't remember right now!

Ok, back to school lessons..I did my workout while waiting for the kids to finish a few subjects. I paused when I needed to instruct. It is easy to do that on a weight day. But, I can't do that on a cardio day!!

Hi ladies!!

Wow, a crazy, busy weekend, even for us. Friday was the Spelling Bee. Colin came in around 8th out of 20th. He did great - I was very proud of him. But it was so heartbreaking watching all the kids who missed hold back tears and get their participant trophies. Colin lost on anniversary. He knew how to spell it, but he said "e" instead of "i". He came to us in the audience and was just sobbing. He kept saying, I knew it, I just messed up. Oh, I hate moments like those! I know exactly how he felt and there's not much you can say to make him feel better. We made it to Jameson's band concert for the last song. Then we took Jameson and three of his friends out for pizza. Colin was feeling better by then. Saturday was an early morning soccer game for Colin's traveling team. OK, Colin played all of five minutes. The coach is one of those who stands there and yells the entire time. Don't know why he didn't play Colin. I understand some kids are better than others and will get more time, and I am so not one of those parents who would whine about their kid not playing. But he'd be in for a minute, just get going and he'd pull him. What the heck? This was the assistant coach. Colin is actually a good player, but he's one of the youngest on the team. Some of these kids are amazing. I told Colin hopefully his regular coach will be at the next game and we'll see how it goes. He was really upset afterwards. Then DH took Colin to his soccer tournament with our church's team. They lost one game and tied two others which they lost in shootouts. Sunday he had another tough game, which they lost 1-0. One of his good friends on the team got hurt pretty bad. He might have a broken leg. Then I was running around taking Caitlyn to a party and Jameson and Ian to friends' houses. Oh, Saturday night we let the kids have a few friends over to watch Avatar. That was fun. Although i was so tired I went to bed before it was over and told DH he was in charge.

I did manage to workout Saturday. I did Turbo Sport. Love that workout!! Today I did Drill Max. Um....I think I'm abandoning my STS/tonique rotation. Sorry Beth!! I do plan to do a couple Toniques a week, but I'm just not into STS! Too much time and I want to do more cardo. I wasn't looking forward to it today and I figured why not do something else?? So, I'm thinking a circuit or two a week, a full body, tonique and other cardio. Well see how long that lasts. ;) Oh, and BBL somewhere in there!

Don't know what made me grab Drill Max today, but it was a good workout! Lots of shoulder work, though.

Kathy, Drill Max has firewalkers!! Good luck to Lauren on her test tonight!

Beth, 421 calories is still really good! You're probably building up your endurance, so it's not so hard for you, so that means you burn less. I know, doesn't seem fair, right? ;)

Hottie, I saw in FB you ate at Steak and Shake four times! That is hilarious!! Joe should have his fix now. Did you have any shakes? Hope you get home soon! Was the wedding fun?

Hi Chris! Hope you had a calm weekend at work! I'm sure you are snoozing now.

My mom is bringing over some hamburger soup she made for me to try. It sounds really good. Beth, I think you posted a recipe awhile ago.

OK...gotta go...have a good day!

Joanne

Hey Girls!

Quickie check in for now, gotta get to my workout, it's a long one!

Work went ok last night, my crazy LOM had been transferred to another unit (to make room for a chemotherapy patient on Monday), so things were very quiet. Oh , didn't tell you, this man was a CLOWN all his life. Clowns creep me out! Anyways, things were very very very quiet. Had a huge hour of totally silliness , I haven't belly laughed that hard in a long long time!

Anyhow, gotta get going on this. Back to Monday/school week. I'm doing the original Body Max! Haven't done that in forever! Hope I have the stamina for it!

BBL!

Joanne, you and your boys and such a tough weekend! That spelling bee story is heartbreaking and you're so right -- there's nothing you can say. That's just how it goes sometime. School of hard knocks, I guess. And don't worry about switching up the rotation! I'm having a super time with it right now, but I also know that in a couple of weeks I may be itching to do some circuits or total body.

Oh, and yeah, it's still a great calorie burn and no I'm not obsessed with burning more more more, but because last week I told you that 2 burned more than 1, I wanted to check in with differing results! It's all about the same, I guess!

Hottie's still stuck in Atlanta, it looks like.... weather woes!!

Chris, glad you had a quiet night of work. Hope you enjoyed Body Max (almost typed as "Boy Max")

Hey Girls, again!

I ended up doing BM (BM means something totally different at work!). How's that for a freudian slip, Beth? (better than Boy Max?, which I have here too!). But that workout was crazy long!! Not horribly complicated though. And the blasts/leg circuits weren't that bad, not like BM2, anyways. I even did the ab work, which I was going to skip, but then though, WTH, might as well!! 802 calories! Which I truly needed to burn. Not only did I belly laugh last night at work, I filled my belly with "evil Sunday" themed food at work. Wow. It was truly evil. So hopefully I evened it all out!

Kathy: Hope Lauren aces her test today!!!! Good deal that you could get your workout in, even with pauses!

Beth: Your story about the "crazy" hospital was freaky! esp since you were in HS! I don't blame you for never going back! There are always crazy people at the hospital to deal with. Thankfully, we have this thing called "Code Yellow". If someone gets out of control, we call one, and security shows up to help. ... Maybe your body is getting semi-used to Tonique?

I think I may buy the gloves with my GC. I'm leaning away from the push/pull up tower thingie magiggy.

Joanne: Yes, you sure did have a crazy weekend! You made the most of it all, even making it to the band concert. Sounds like the perfect solution. Sorry for the hard lesssons learned on the losses. I guess it all helps with teaching life lessons to lose. but it sure hurts a mommy's heart to see your kids sad. ... Turbo Sport sounds like fun! And havent' done DM in a LONg time! It's fun to get back to workouts you haven't done in a while!... Nothing like Hamburger Soup, when you MOM makes it! Enjoy!

Got homework done. Phsewww!

Hi all! Not letting you get that cupcake, Chris!! Wow, 800 calories?? That's great!! I haven't done that one in awhile either. Like years! Maybe I'll try it this week sometime. I forgot to tell you I was LOLing at your LOM stories! ;) Too funny that he was a clown. They give me the willies! Clowns - something weird about 'em.

You guys are right. I was thinking the same thing, that Colin was learning a life lesson. He seems to be OK with it now.

Caitlyn is having some kind of allergic reaction. I think she touched something that had Nutella (hazelnuts) on it. Colin had some at the kitchen table. She must have rubbed her eyes. Now she has little hives on her eyelids and they are all red. I gave her some benadryl. It seems to be helping. Poor thing is miserable. She's blaming Colin. But it's not his fault. I just need to be more diligent about cleaning the table if someone ate something she's allergic to. Or just not have it in the house. Except Colin loves the stuff and eats it everyday.

Gotta run to the store before the Black Hawks game!

Joanne

Sorry, Joanne! The cupcakes are for me tonight!! ;)

Chris, so crazy that that guy was a clown!! Get this.... a friend on fb posted just the other day about some scary clown you can hire to "stalk" someone (as a joke, presumably, but it sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen!).

Holy cow, what a workout you had! How long is that one? I thought it was an hour, so I was surprised to hear you say had a long one to do -- thought maybe you were adding on something. Get the gloves! They are great, I think. Then you can get a t-shirt or whatever, too..... guess you can't save it, right.... it has to be spent fairly quickly???

Joanne, sorry to hear about Caitlyn! Ug!
