Anyone workout with Gilad?

Hi!
I have one of Gilad's older step videos (the one with the silly parrot!). It was very basic, but it got me confident about doing step, and you have to agree that Gilad is an enthusiastic (and very cute!) instructor. I am a Cathe fanatic now, but I am wondering if any of you work out with Gilad, and if so, which DVDs/videos are worth trying? Some of them seem targeted to beginner exercisers, so I would not be interested in those.
Thanks!
Amy

I bought his Quick Fit system and used it for a while with some gains in cardio strength (wasn't doing much before that) and muscle strength. I enjoyed the workouts, he explains well. They are no where near the intensity of Cathe though. They might be someone else's cup of tea. I really enjoyed the kickboxing.

hi Amy,

I have done Gilad on fit tv, also Denise Austin on lifetime, but i don't think that he is anywhere near as intense as Cathe. However, i don't have his videos, i suppose that they are more intense than his shows on fit tv. For me, he was a great start to the level of training that i have with Cathe.

just my opinion. Ann Marie:+

I do his workouts on FitTv. Its intense for a short workout and he does leave my severely out of shape legs very sore but I prefer Cathe because her workouts are longer.

Gilad is the 1st instructor I worked out with so I'll always hold him dear. I have a number of his tapes but I haven't worked out with him in over 2-3 years. I also got the Quick Fit system, but none of the cardio tapes were intense enough. But for hi/lo, Getting Fit in Jerusalem and the Split Routine - Fat Burning tapes were pretty good.

Thanks for your replies! What about Arms of Steel/Legs of Steel? Those tapes seem to get good reviews and may be more challenging than his cardio routines?

Hi Amy,
I am a big Gilad fan even though I never workout with him anymore.I started with The Men of Steel Series as there were & still are not many videos targeted to men.I used to alternate with Arms of Steel & Legs of Steel.I loved them.He really motivated me.I have since moved on & do primarily Cathe & Mindy.Gilad is so basic but I highly recommended for the beginner intermediate exerciser.Arms of steel is for any level as you just have increase the weights to suit your own level. In the legs video Gilad doesn't even use weights however you could certainly substitute.I don't even think this series exists anymore.I must say that the quick fix weight workouts are pretty good-very basic & endurance orientated. In closing I reall cannot recommend Gilad for the advanced exerciser.I keep them & will purchase newer ones out of loyalty & curiosity & for the rest days.

I still occassionally use Step & Tone. I need something that's *really* low impact for those days where my 26 year old knees think they're 62, and this fits the bill. It's pretty much a no impact workout. Great for those days where you just can't take a Cathe type knee beating!
