Does anyone here have any good success with fat burner supplements? I know results should be made with clean eating and hard work, but it would be nice to have a little boost or push. I see alot of bodybuilders using different supplements for cutting. I'd like to hear from regular people that do home workouts if any of them work for people like us? I'm looking for something to help boost my metabolism and speed up the weight loss, my eating is in pretty good control, so I don't really need an appetite suppressant.

I haven't tried them, but most have stimulants (caffeine, ephedrine, etc.) which is how they increase the metabolism. Doesn't sound very healthy to me.

I think most body builders and figure athletes use them for the energy boost not because they burn fat. I don't think that they are very good for you.

I think the fat burners just give you more energy because of the caffeine, etc. I don't think they actually burn the fat off your body. I would try to stay away from fatburners.

I have tried ephedra, but I don't endorse it AT ALL! It definitely helped me curb my appetite and helped me lose weight, but I wasn't healthy (people actually commented to my mother that I looked like I had an illness) and I didn't feel good. I don't think that there are any shortcuts, just plain old boring exercise and good eating.

I hate to admit it, but I loved Ephedra!!

It gave me so much energy it was unreal - I exercised like crazy and had plenty of energy to keep up with work, my family, etc. I miss it, but realize that it wasn't healthy

I wish there was something close to it that is better for you.

I've used fat burners for energy before a workout. Usually in the evening when I start to poop out the pills give me that extra boost I need to make it through an evening workout after work. However, be careful because some can get your heart rate up to high and you may feel like you want to pass out during your workout.

I'm not sure where you live but GNC hipped me up to their RELEASE program which includes an energy booster(makes you feel alert, not jittery), CLA/GLA, and a night time release which helps your digestive system. I really like it, but I've found that not all GNC has the product.

A healthier way to get energy before a workout would be some yerba maté tea. It's stimulating, but not as hard on the adrenals.

Hi, nspire. What is GLA? I don't like the energy (caffine) stuff. Scares me actually. I pretty much just get my caffine and energy boost from tea and coffee. I also like Enviga because calories are low only 5 and I get the caffine without all the calories, I like milk and sugar in my coffee and honey and cream in my tea. Do you find that the CLA has worked for you?

I'll also confess to using ephedra (when it was legal). It gave me the extra boost I needed to go hard throughout my workouts when I was 40+ pounds overweight.
I wish I could still get it, but I've discovered phentermine through my doctor (rx) and it does the same thing plus curbs appetite. You can only use it for approx. 60 days because it does seem to *wear off*. I think you have to be classified as obese to be prescribed it though. Again, it just helped me get throught those first few weeks of trying to get my fat a** back in gear.
So, that's my experience with fat-burners.
Please don't stone me! ;)

The supplements at GNC was more natural. GLA is Gamma Linolic Acid, something like that. I don't have anymore but I really need to get some more.
