Hi- Looking for some good kickboxing workouts, I do prefer Cathe's or the older Taebos, others instructors I tried are boring or are a bit too easy; I think because most go through a minute of demonstrating some exercises instead of just going through the workout without slowing down.

So, wondering if anyone here uses the newer Taebos (from Goodtimes) and are any as tough as the original Live! 12 workouts and Get Ripped or Cathe's kickboxing workouts? Or how tough is Turbo Jam from Beachbody? Thanks.

Well every now and then i will do Billy Blanks taebo Cardio Circuit 1. I don't know what fitness level you are but I'm intermediate. I would say that workout is High Intermediate . He will twist the wind out of you in that video.

I've used Taebo and Turbo Jam. I've only used Taebo on occasion so I don't have alot of good feedback on that one. I remember the ones I did being probably intermediate on the fitness level scale...not too easy, not too tough. The one thing I didn't like about Taebo is he doesn't even out the sides, sometimes it was extremely obvious that one side was getting worked way more than the other...he'd get on talking sprees and completely forget about the count.

Turbo Jam is easier than most of Cathe's workouts, but what Chalene's videos don't have in aerobic challenge she more than makes up for in fun!! I love my Turbo Jams for those days when I don't want to do something super intense but just want to get a decent aerobic workout in and have a blast doing it. The time flies in her videos...but that could also be that I really enjoy the music she uses...alot of current to semi-current hip/hop stuff.

Good morning,

IMHO none of the new Taebos come close to the old Advanced Live in sweat appeal. Check out some other comments on this very topic at videofitness.com too. It seems (and I just realized duh that none of the new workouts he has made are called "beginner" or "advanced") that all the new workouts are targeted toward a beginner; he spends way more time showing in slow motion how to do the kicks etc. and so its hard to get your heart rate up at all. I LOVE The old tapes, would pay $$$$ to get them on DVD because I burn major calories on them. The new ones; I sold them all on Amazon.com.

Hope this helps.

I did not prefer Turbo Jam and returned all of them to Beach body. I didn't like the music, but more importantly, I found the workouts a little unstructured for my taste, some of the shifts between moves seemed unsafe, and overall poorly cued.

The energy of the instructor was good though, just hard to follow.

My 2 cents. :)

Have you tried any Janis Saffel kick box? I have a couple of hers and I like them. I have Hard core Kick box with her husband and Strike zone. I found that they are even cheaper at Amazon.com then collage video. Collage video has the 60 sec preview, but then I'll shop around and try to find the cheapest price. And amazon usually has free shipping on order over $25.

PS I did try turbo jam but it wasn't for me

I did not like turbojam at all, sent it back. The new TaeBo I also do not care for, it drives me crazy to hear all the people counting in the back ground. Why they have that on there who know???
I do like the old TaeBo, but have found KPC and KM are the best kickboxing videos out there. You can't beat the workouts.

That drove me crazy too! I didn't like how he would get on talking sprees and he was not even working out with you. That is what I liked most about Cathe. She dosn't stop, she is right there with you. And I love how she will show you incorrect form in some of her workouts and you actually catch yourself (or I do) doing it sometimes.
