anyone not doing cardio?

I started out STS doing cardio every other day, but as the program's progressed I have less energy and desire to be doing cardio. I'm really beat! Did anyone else not do cardio?

I did not do much cardio at all in Meso 1. I was just too worn out. I've done more in Meso 2, which is as far as I've gotten to date.

I did not do cardio in M1 and M2 (only some walking outside) but in M3 I got back on track and did cardio 5-6 times/week. I did feel more fatigue in the first to mesocycles.

Thanks! I've had a lot going on these days, too, which isn't helping me with my cardio plans (kids home from school, new puppy, etc.) but I'm hoping to get back on track soon!

I never did cardio more then 2x a week with STS. Anyway, I think KidMax and PuppyMax is more then sufficient.

i did this (cut back on cardio) in the beginning when i first started STS and found that i didn't stay as lean as i liked. Even though it was hard, my body type is such that it needs more cardio. I've tried to compensate by lowering my cals instead of doing cardio but that doesn't work for me; it just makes me too hungry since i'm only eating 1500 anyway. So for me, i just had to accept that i had to do more cardio and thats what i have been doing and i'm really loving my results. Currently i do cardio coach or a kickbox workout on tuesday, thursday, and saturday, and then on monday, wednesday , and friday after my STS workouts i tag on 30 minutes of steady state cardio either on the treadmill or elliptical. It was hard at first but once i decided this was what i was going to do and it became part of my routine my body adjusted.

Wow, kariev! I know my body would be looking better, too, with more cardio and I am determined to get it going again. Thanks for sharing your results!

I kept up with cardio but felt VERY fatigued, especially during Meso 1. I do believe though that a lot of it had to do with not getting enough sleep. I routinely make do with 5.5-6.25 hours of sleep and honestly, to make it, you probably need at least 8. If you can find a way to bump up your sleep, but not cut out your cardio, I think you'll find yourself with plenty of energy (and fabulous results.)

Thanks, Shani! I have to admit that right now I am very sleep deprived. We have an 11-week old puppy who is finally sleeping through the night, but up and raring to go at 5 a.m. I tend to be a night owl, and while I really don't mind being up at 5, I have to train myself to get to bed a little earlier!

Tomorrow is a new day, and I've already announced to my family that I am back on track with EVERYTHING! Wish me luck!

Good luck on the puppy. My schedule is still not back to normal since getting ours. He is full of energy so I do have to walk/run/bike with him but then it's harder to fit in my workouts. Hopefully this year will be less work..... yes he's a year already.

On Meso One I had alot of energy and my endurance for cardio I noticed improved greatly. I was doing 5 to 6 days of cardio every week. I'm on the 6 month STS rotation so I was of course on Meso one for 8 weeks. I'm now on my second week of Meso 2 and I feel really wiped after my weight workouts and have pretty much kept it to 3x a week and occasionally squeezing in 4 X's a week if I can handle it. I wonder how I will feel when I get to Meso 3?

I was thinking about M3 today, too!:eek:

working hard is not easy

I finished sts a month ago, but I never had that trouble, I did 3 day's of sts mix with 3days of cardio, sleeping is definitely as far as I know the best, getting at least 7 straight hours and eating enough it really help, I know some times can be very difficult ( I have 4 Girls I know what that mean) But I stick with what I love doing the most..WORKOUT and I did it.The recovery week was a big help..
Good luck....
