Anyone have or wear Road ID when working out?

I just received mine this week! I got the shoe ID where it attaches to your laces via a velcro "sandwich". It does not inhibit your running at all and it seems heavy-duty enough to last a long time and in all conditions. Hopefully you won't ever need it but I thought it was a good idea since I usually run alone.

tahnks for the link i saved it so i can order one later. i run on a country road for about a mile before i reach the school zone so it would be good to have just in case.

I have a little ID sticker on my bike helmet, my emergency info is located inside my helmet.

Angie actually sent me a coupon for this!! :)

THANK YOU ANGIE!!!

I had one with my marathon training group, but I'm going to get this one too.

I hadn't seen these but, I have been seeing people with these huge orange vests that look like state construction workers, jogging. Um...I get that you want people to see you but geeze louise. :p

i've had the dog tag style one for a while now... hubby has had his even longer.. they are very nice quality.... not like the cheesy "dog" tags you can buy for your dogs... nice.... polished.. i got the bikerchick design and a blue silencer! i wear it every time i go out on the bike! i don't wear it to workout at home.. if i were a runner.. i'd wear it though!

their customer service is great too!

a couple of ladies around here ride their bikes wearing those vests... i can't blame them... drivers are CRAZY and don't realize that cyclist are ENTITILED to be on the road just like cars are! UGH! at least if they get hit.. the stupid driver can't claim they didn't see the cyclist or runner!

I use a fanny pack and put my ID - emergency info, driver's licence, and health ins. card - in one of the pockets.
Just Do It! :)

My friend got one that she wears on her shoe and she likes it. I just write my name, address, and phone number on a slip of paper that I keep in my pocket when I run.

Thank you Amy for posting the link.

I am very good about carrying ID & my HMO card when I cycle, but I'm really inconsistent about it when I'm on foot. Dumb!

I'm going to order ID's for DH & myself.

I like that idea, Lori Ann! LOL, I think any paper in my pocket would be drenched by the end of a run...

I have an ID bracelet I wear all the time that says I'm on an insulin pump, and gives a number for someone to call (Medic-Alert). It's really a nice, gold bracelet I had a jeweler make, so I'm concerned no one would look at it, since it doesn't *look* like a traditional ID bracelet.

I also usually run with the MedicAlert plastic card on me, too.

I always run alone, and have taken to running on trails rather than on sidewalks (although I confess to owning several reflective pieces and one brilliantly yellow vest, LOL). I guess it can never be too much, but I had someone call 911 on me for a low blood sugar when I was in high school and I guess I get a little freaked.

I have the dog tag one too. It's nice cause you can pick a pic or quote for the back. I put my blood type on mine as well.

As for the orange vests, I wear one on my bike. I didn't until a guy got hit and died on our rural roads. Many drivers can't see very well at all.

I always have my cell phone with me and my DH's number is listed under ICE (in case of emergency) and visa versa. We read it was always a good idea to have an emergency number in your phone and to list it under "ICE" so the hospital or people who find you don't have to guess what number to call. Hopefully, the emergency number will never have to be used.
