Anyone have a rotation with spinning incorporated?

I would love to see anyone's rotation that they are doing or have done and what results it gave you. I am just incorporating spinning and need a steady hand to balance the cardio and weights.

Can't help you here with a rotation. I just set up my bike on a trainer (noisy wind trainer) and can only spin on Fridays (my day off, and DH not at home to disturb). I ordered a few Spinervals and will probably do them once a week. My cycling friends swear by Spinervals during the winter season when you can't get on the road to ride. Guess Fridays will be my spin day. Hopefully, I'll get a real bike ride out on the road on the weekend. Sure a lot more enjoyable than time on the trainer, but when there's snow and ice on the road, that's all you can do.

Hi Linda!

I was just looking at the November Rotation, and thought that on the days where Cathe has the Interval runs you could sub with Spinning.
If you wanted to incorporate another day of spinning in, you could sub one of the interval days (such as an IMAX day) for spinning.

I actually may do this myself. If you decide to do it, maybe we could have a check-in :)

Linda, I agree with Stepper that Spinning could easily be incorporated into Cathe's November rotation, especially for the running. I'm going to assume that you're familiar with heart rate zones & Spinning terminology. Do an endurance workout for the steady state. Strength zone for a tempo run, & obviously intervals on the bike could sub for an IMax. "Jumps" aren't as tough as Cathe's plyo work but they're still great conditioning.

Include some kickboxing for the lateral movement & upper body work that you don't get from cycling.

If you're really gung-ho, you could Spin during the moderate intensity sections of Cathe's interval workouts, & jump off the bike for the blasts. The only problem is switching shoes, but they did it in the "Enter the Red Zone" Spinerval.

I will look at the November rotation and just may do this starting next week, or December. So far, I have been making sure I do an Aero Builder and an interval workout (ie. lean and mean, enter the red zone) at least once a week. But the one that got me, and I mean got me was The Sprinting Machine. This workout was draining like an IMAX and I had to take a day off in the middle of the week, it caught me that off guard, but a totally good workout.

I am starting to see difference in my cardio conditioning since incorporating spinning. I still do the IMAXs but have to modify anything hard on the knees, but my new fav is LowMax. When I first did this one, I could not finish. But I kept at it and now incorporate this one in my routine also.

Thanks all....

Linda
