Anyone else planning on doing STS over a period of six months?

I have read some posts about doing STS over a period of 6 months instead of 3 moths. I find the idea quite appealing and am planning on doing each week twice in a row before moving on to the next week.

So I was wondering, is there anyone else that is planning on doing it this way? I think it would be fun to have a 6 month STS check in so we can share our progress and experience and encourage each other.

I guess the STS will arrive at my home some time the first week in February. I'm thinking of starting it pretty soon after that.

Would anyone else like to do a check in thread with me when the time comes?

Also, I was wondering, where can you get a good body fat measurement? I thought it might be fun to see how much my body fat % changes as I do STS.

I'm not a member of a gym, can you do it even if you are not a member?
I know there are different ways of doing it. What is the most accurate?

I will be doing this and would love to check in for a 6 month STS rotation. I am planning to do a marathon again the first part of May and I was worried that using STS as a 3 month rotation would be too stressful as I would be doing the 3rd mesocycle so close to the marathon. I may have to modify the leg part depending on how I am doing...but I am all for it!
let me know!

I'm seriously considering making it a 6 month rotation as well. I'll make my final decision once it gets here, because I plan on jumping in ASAP!

Hi Cendrine,
I would love to join a check in - I think it will take my muscles at least 6 months to adapt to the training anyway - and I want to make STS last a while too! Thanks for the idea!

I was interested in this too. was wanting to jump right in when it gets here.
I'm looking into the body fat thing too. I want to know how my fat % does.

6 month rotation

I was thinking of doing the STS on a 6 month basis as well. Maybe not even in that time frame, but I am wanting to do a workout every other day, rotating the STS with cardio. Does anyone else think of putting cardio in the mix. I'd love to hear other ideas on how this can be achieved.

I was planning on doing STS as a 6 month rotation also. I've been interested in also having my body fat checked. I currently have a scale that measures body fat but am not sure how reliable it is. It does give me a good idea though. I was also planning on starting STS when it arrives and adding in cardio days as well.

I think I'll do six month rotation, but do it once all the way through and then all the way through again. I just want to get the first rotation done once to see how it goes, progress-wise, and then do it again right away. Maybe for the next round, I'll do a six month-er just to switch it up! I'd love to do check-ins too!

I am definately adding in cardio.

I have a scale too. not sure how accurate either. Its the Bigest loser one.

Wow, there's a lot of us who think alike... :)

I'm going to do the first week of mesocycle 1 two weeks in a row. and so on. That's what I understand Cathe suggested, and it kind of sounds good to me, so that's how I'll be doing it.

I'm planning on adding in cardio as well, it's something I think Cathe will have suggestions for in the 100 page guide. I think, the leg work is so tough that it can count as a cardio, at least for me.... :) I'm sure some of you are more fit than I....

I'm planning on doing at least 2 more cardio in addition to the mesocycle.

I'm going to ask my doctor about the body fat measuring and let you know if I find out anything that's accurate. If you find out first, please share with the rest of us!;)

I'm so excited about starting! I'm looking forward to doing it with you guys!

Have you all done the 1RMs yet?

I have procrastinated but am doing it this week (at least I'm starting...)

I'd prefer to do the 6 month check in but I also think it would be fun to follow along with Cathe when she starts STS. I think she's only doing one week at a time. I'm definitely adding cardio. I need it. I'm going to see what cardio Cathe recommends. and follow along.Like I've said about myself on other posts. I'm a sheep. I like to follow along and not think too much.

Me too!

Colleen I could have written your post verbatim:)

I was sort of waiting to see what Cathe was going to do but I really want to do it over 6 months as well.

I hate to make decisions!

I'm just wondering how much repetition there will be within the cycles. I'm not sure how different weeks 1,2,3 and 4 will really be. Cathe was originally going to have the entire month of chest/back (for example) on 1 DVD with a slightly different premix for each week. I'm thinking that you will have a lot of repeat exercises anyway so almost like doing 4 weeks in a row of the same thing. Then double that to 8 weeks per mesocycle for the 6 month rotation and it could get pretty boring. But if each week's DVD had at least 50% new stuff then I think I would like to do the 6 month.

Just a thought, but I'd think that whatever way you chose to check your fat percentage, if you always consistently used it in the same way it would at least show you how much improvement you are making.

Add me to the six month list!! I'll be doing the rotation as Cathe suggested--Week 1, repeat, Week 2, repeat, etc.

I also plan on alternating weight days with cardio days for a six day rotation per week. I may need to modify that to five days (the number of days I normally work out) at times, but I'm going to work hard to keep my weight training and cardio separated (unlike now) since that has been suggested for getting the best results.

I figure once I get the DVDs and preview at least the first cycle, I'll be ready to go!
