anyone else here an exclusive cathlete?

Cathlete
just wondering...does anyone else here exclusively work out with cathe and no one else?
several years ago, i worked out with cathe, the firm, and others, and i also ran regularly. now, for various reasons, my workout dvd collection is exclusively cathe (and i haven't run regularly in years). i do look for other instructors, but no one else seems to produce the high quality, challenging, and fun workouts that cathe does. literally, no one else compares.

No

I do Yoga, dance workouts, jump rope and run. There may be people who do that but I think I would get bored. Also, that would all be indoors.

not any more

after finding cathe through THE FIRM and collage video, I did her workouts alone for quite sometime as she did have THE market in advanced workouts.....hands down my sole fitness provider for a few years..........however, that would be doing myself a great
disadvantage now considering programs by Tony horton and shaun, both from beachbody have entered the scene. there are many more comprehensive advanced workouts availible to the home exerciser.

I still own and use all my cathes, and continue to look forward to her future endeavors, but I would be seriously missing out on other EXPERT instructors and their workouts if I didnt diversify my program.

Cathe is far and away my favorite instructor but I find I get better results by mixing it up with some Firms, Kim Spreen, Jillian Michaels, Kelly Coffey-Meyer, rebounding, yoga, running intervals on the treadmill and walking/hiking outside. As Joannafit said, I would consider it a disservice to myself to exclude all other instructors...they all use different methods and sequencing which confuses and shocks the body, producing greater results, IMO.

Use others

I use other workouts as well, and practice yoga at a studio near work. I feel my body responds better to the constant challenges :)

I do mostly Cathe, but not completely. Loving Shaun T, and can't wait to do the full Insanity rotation. I have a couple Amy Bento's that I dust off occasionally. I like Amy's KB more than her step, her step ticks me off and frustrates me. I like to run as well. And I like Cardio Coach. But, yeah, most of my DVD's are Cathe. I like her, it works. More often than not, I end up disappointed w/ other instructors. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

There are times when I workout exclusively to Cathe (for short periods), other times when I don't do a Cathe workout for months, but most of the time, I mix it up. And in the warm months (about March through September or October) speed walking is my primary cardio, so I use DVD's mostly for weight workouts at that time.

Cathe doesn't do kettlebells, pre-hab/rehab type workouts, some other types of workouts that I enjoy, and not enough of the type of kickboxing/boxing workouts I love, so I'd be missing out on those if I didn't go to other instructors.

As others have said, different instructors offer different perspectives, different personalities, different techniques and a more-well-rounded approach than just doing one instructor exclusively.

I did Cathe exclusively for years following her monthly rotations but after STS followed by CLX I needed a break from weight work. Now I am doing a lot of barre/pilates/yoga fusion workouts and a lot of walking both indoors and out. For some reason I have no desire to pick up my barbell at all.

Phyllis,

I did Pyramid Upper Body for the first time yesterday and know how you feel! I can't move my arms above my hips and decided to just lay my toothbrush on the bathroom vanity and run my face back and forth over it instead. There are muscles in my armpits I never knew I had. But I love love loved the workout!

I've been doing some pilates with the ball but am feeling like my hip flexors are doing a lot of the work. Hope that it gets easier and that my abs take over soon (wherever they are). ;)

Before starting my Insanity rotation, I would say 75% of my workouts were Cathe. I also really enjoy Patrick Goudeau, the older Firm workouts, Jillian on occasion, Kelley Coffee-Meyer and Jari Love. Since Insanity, I probably still do Cathe 50%. Like others have said, though, Cathe is my all time fav, but there are many other high quality instructors out there and switching it up is always good.

I definitely mix it up...A LOT and love it that way! Cathe is an excellent instructor with a production quality to her vids that outweighs others by leaps and bounds BUT that doesn't mean she is the only one I get a great work out with! I love her stuff dearly but would get incredibly bored if I didn't have other options to choose from!

I enjoy Cathe immensely and own just about all of her DVDs. I too find that I get better results if I mix it up a lot. Now there are so many good advanced instructors that I enjoy that I would be limiting myself and my progress if I only used Cathe's DVDs.

I enjoy 1. kettlebell workouts ( esp AOS and Lauren) and
2. Michael Olajide for boxing.
3. Barre and barre type workouts esp - Tonique , P57, Pershing square
4.Pilate and Yoga workouts
5.Cardio Coach
6. Rebounding

I enjoy some of the workouts of other instructors such as Kelley Coffey-Meyers, Patrick Goudeau, Jari Love. Shaun T - Insanity, Tony- P90X, older Firm workouts ( before the Pink Firms)

I started out with just Cathe last February, but quickly started a running program in addition to her DVDs. Now, I've started incorporating some Turbulence Training and want to pick up some kettlebells. I also throw in a yoga now and then. My DH and I also love outdoor stuff in the warmer months, so we bike and play tennis. He dives and I swim along on the surface (in my very buoyant wetsuit!).

I agree with all the others that you need variety to keep your body improving. It also keeps the boredom away!

Hi

I've been doing workouts for a number of years and live in the UK. When I came across Cathe they were not like anything I had experienced before very versatile and quality products. I do buy other dvds and I do like to try paper workouts as well as kettlebell workouts. Also I like to trade but I always come back to Cathe every time. I would trade any of my other dvds but never Cathe they are my holy grail lol. Thats not to say I don't enjoy variety and other products but for me personally I feel I trust Cathes experience in providing me with a well rounded workout. Its just personal preference, I suppose you could say I've been won over.

When I switched from working out at the gym to working out at home, I only did Cathe and ran. Now I do yoga (Namaste), KBs (AOS) and am loving the results from Brazil Butt Lift.

interesting perspectives

i enjoyed reading everyone's posts.
i think for me, cathe just delivers each and every time. i have tried KCM, jari, gin miller in the recent past, but i always go back to cathe. she delivers more bang for the "buck", if you will. :)
i have seen some interesting workouts in the latest issue of the collage catalog, so i might try those. but i've already ordered 3 new cathe dvd's that i don't have. :)

I work out to Cathe exclusively. This is mainly because I have a very limited budget for buying exercise-related stuff. So, after buying shoes and bras, if I can only get one dvd, it is going to be a Cathe because I am afraid I'd be missing out on something. If I had more money to spend I would try out other instructors. Jeanne

When it comes to weights and cardio, I only do Cathe.

I do yoga in the morning and prefer Mark Blanchard and Eion Finn.

I mainly stick with Cathe; I haven't found an instructor who's as much fun and as challenging as she is. I'd love to buy Insanity but my budget is really tight right now. Sometimes I'll throw in a run and some Yoga, but most of my workout sessions are Cathe's.

I use to do the Old Firm but once I got started with Cathe I have never done anything else besides cycling , swimming and running. But I do those without any tapes. I must say though that I do have some yoga and pilates tapes that I use in the evening to get me to relax. I don't know if I want to do any other tapes since I get so many compliments on the way I look. It is all Cathe .
