Anyone doing BFL or EFL?

Wondering if anyone was doing body for life or eating for life? I am seriously considering doing the eating part of the program. I may depending on if we get the new videos or not by January, actually do a month of BFL like it is to be done. Get me going in the right direction.

Would love to have someone (or more) to chat with.

Hi Rhonda. I've been eating the BFL way for well over a year...quite successfully I must admit. I lost over 50 pregnancy pounds (second baby) with BFL and Cathe. They are definitely my winning combination! I've struggled for YEARS with my diet and BINGO...I'm down to the smallest I've ever been (even with a toddler and a one year old!!)

A few months ago I bought the EFL cookbook off of Ebay and I love it. I'm no cook and I don't have time to fool around with something that doesn't work.

I'm dashing off for the weekend but would love to chat about it again on Monday. I'll be happy to help you get started. If you bought the EFL book...read the first chapters. It is tremendously helpful in gearing up!

Eat to Live and EFL are different. EFL is the Eating for Life REcipe Book by Bill Phillips and part of the Body for life (BFL) program. I've been doing BFL albeit a bit inconsistenly for almost two years now. I find it to be a great program. I did the original 12 weeks by the book. I found it has gotten me the best results but truth be told I miss my videos. Now I usually do 4 weeks by the book, 4 weeks S&H and 4 weeks pyramids.

I did BFL a couple of times but never successfully finsihed it.If I have time to plan my meals and stuff I am fine. But when I get off track,I really get of track and the cheat days always got the best of me.
Its not hard to follow at all.You just eat 5-6 meals a day.A serving of carbs and protein at each meal and at 2 meals you have a serving of veggies. There are certain things that you will need to have in your fridge all the time for snacks but the basic 3 meals are easy.
I have thought about doing it again.I would like to eat that way but I want to workout with my videos.PUB and PLB are great workouts for BFL.

p.s prehaps we could start a new check in in the new year. The BFL check in

i am up for a EFL check in...i love that cookbook for its simplicity and it is so practical also!! i recommend his success journal too, as it features 84 success stories in it!

I was meaning just the eating, I do my videos for the workouts. I just started the P90X to tide me over til Cathe's hardcore comes out. I figured it will be at least another couple of months before we see the hardcores. I have the EFL cookbook which I integrate with BFL. Beginning of the year check in would be great. I have to read through the stuff again to get myself on track.

My DH and I are going to start this after the holidays. I am going to look for the books today. I would be up for a check-in. Although I haven't read either book yet, I am assuming M&M's are not part of the plan?! I need all the help I can get!

You could eat them on free day :) I live for free days! It is actually what helps me stay on track during the week, especially when we have junk food around the office. I know if I resist, I can eat it on Sat. if I still am craving it.

When I did BFL, I looked the best I ever had since high school. I am up for doing it starting January 1. The last time I did it, I did the eating program exactly, but for the exercise portion, I modified it to incorporate the FIRM and Tae Bo videos (this was before I knew about Cathe). I think it would be easy to do using Cathe's stuff; which is what I will do this time around.

I've been following the recipes (mostly) from EFL. I noticed that there is alot of bread and pasta in his recipes. Has anyone noticed bloating while following his program, or is it just me (since I feel that my stomach is protruding further than normal)?

Thanks!
Lorrayne

Hi Shopgirl,

That is what I plan on doing, eating BFL way but doing videos. I tried doing the exercise plan last time but got bored with it and went to videos. I still do the cardio as outlined but usually go longer for 30-40 minutes.

I think we will start a BFL checkin starting January.
