Anyone doing 1RM before XTrain?

Just curious what others are doing. I've never done STS before and don't know if I should work on this prior to XTrain arrival.

YES!

I plan on doing the testing again. I did it for STS and I think I'm much stronger now so I'm going to repeat it prior to xtrain.

No. I'll never get around to it and waiting for the time and moment to get around to all that testing will make me put off starting Xtrain at all because it will never happen, so what's the point? I'm gonna leap right in because that's the only thing that will work for me. It's not perfect, but then my life is so far from perfect that I just don't care.

It's my body, my workout, my time. I'll do what I want and make it work for me.

I'm not doing 1RM testing. I figure I work out regularly enough with Cathe and heavy weights that I have a good idea of what weight to use for each exercise.

If I were a newbie, I might reconsider. Although, my experience with 1RM with STS was not very good so that also is playing a part in my reluctance to do it again.

I would have like to but the workouts for XT aren't in the workout manager yet. I personally found the 1RM tests to be very helpful while doing STS. The values pushed me to go heavier than I might have had I not done the tests.

Nope. I know how much I can lift safely, plus the first time or two I do a workout I go slightly lighter anyway, just to get a feel for things. After that I can assess where to push myself harder and where I'm okay and adjust accordingly.

NO

Frankly I don't have the time or patience. I know what I can safely lift with good form and what #'s will challenge me. I'm jumping right in ASAP :D.

One rep max

I agree with TRSTACIE...
I prefer structure, plan and preparation prior to embarking on any program.
1rep max has proved me that optimising the weight selection for a good form is important and efficient.

We all have busy life and the last thing I want he start thinking how heavy i need to go in the midle of a workout. I love my notes, print off listing selection before starting a dvds...It made realise how heavier i am able to lift. It has proved me that the weight load is not always what to aim for! Variation in range of motion, in grips, in equipment also make a difference.

I can not do my rep max for xtrain now simply cause I have no clue of the content! will definitely do prior to taking on the program. For me cathe programs are like movies really...I do enjoy viewing them with interest in understanding the concept behind. Well that is me! May be I think too much:D

Nope. I have been working out long enough...I can usually just figure it out on my own and have no need for it to be absolutely perfect so I'm just jumping right in!:)

I haven't been able to get X Train yet, but I'm learning my 1 rep max is way higher than I ever used.

Watching her workouts is all about comparing concepts, learning moves, learning how to challenge myself, and very much as interesting as a movie :p

I'm not planning to repeat my 1RM testing. I'll just use my worksheets/weight loads from STS and use the weight Cathe uses and suggests to tweak my weights for XTrain.

Oh ya, I forgot about this! The screen will show what #'s Cathe is using. I find this to be extremely helpful because I KNOW if Cathe is using 20's for bicep curls, I won't be :D.
