Anyone do Cathe workouts barefoot?

What do you experienced barefoot exercisers think of running the stairs barefoot? I have recently taken this up as a lower impact version of running (due to back issues). I always feel like my shoe is catching on the step when I'm coming down the stairs but if barefoot I wouldn't have that issue. Any opinions or suggestions? Thanks!!

I have tried the sliding disc exercises with and without shoes and IMHO I have much more control when I am barefoot.

Good thought! I bet the discs would be even more effective used barefoot. I ALWAYS wear shoes. Like someone else said, I feel unsupported without them. My floor is linoleum, and my feet are always cold, so I do like my shoes & socks. I know that it's recommended to do Kettlebell workouts barefoot, and I have tried it, but again.... My feet are too cold!!

i actually just did S&G barefoot on thursday and it felt so much better to me....i felt like i was able to control the discs much better, and i was also able to feel where my feet were on the discs, so they weren't able to slide off like they tend to try to do when i wear shoes....loved it:)

Hmm I will try this one. Thanks!

Interesting thread. I have foot issues and I buy the most cushy sneakers possible, most of the time, but I have a few exercises that I have done barefoot. I always do turbo barre barefoot. I tried it with socks once because my floor is kind of cold, but it was slippery. I have also done kickboxing barefoot, but only low impact, like the MMA series or Ilaria. I have also done the Firm lower body workout barefoot and that's fine for me.

After reading this thread, I did Afterburn barefoot today. I was surprised that some of the moves seemed easier, except the jacks on the disks...the edges of the disks dug into my feet.

I never would have thought to do a workout barefoot (why, I wonder?), so thanks for this thread!

I do not, but I have been wanting to find a *barefoot shoe* for Turbo Barre and walking around the house. Because of hip and spinal alignment issues I have to wear a slight lift in one of my shoes, plus, I just have neve been comfortable walking barefoot... guess I've gotten tender-footed in my older age:) Anyway, thank you for discussing this -I was wondering which barefoot shoe to buy!

So I did the S&G barefoot. I liked it coz I had more control with the disc from sliding off my feet & I was able to go lower & deeper! Only problem was the disc was uncomfortable on my arch.
