Anybody work out in the evening?

I always work out in the morning. But I'm thinking, maybe I should try to work out in the evening a couple days a week. Here's why -- I tend to really pig out at night! Just had pasta w/clam sauce, then my DH said he'd like some bread, so of course, I had major bread sopping up the sauce too. Now my Valentine's candy is sending out bad "eat me" vibes! Any moonlight exercisers out there???

I workout both times. Before I quit my old job, I only worked out at night. I am NOT a morning person!! But now that I have a new job that is more flexible, I kind of go with the flow.

I had a dentist appt. this morning, and it's taken me all day to recover,x( so I'll be working out in the next 30min or so.

I would say, work out at a time that works best for you. You just want to make sure that you continue exercising!! :p

I to work out morning and night but it just depends on what fits my schedule. Some people like to workout in the morning b/c they tend to put it off in the evening.I always liked to workout in the evening more b/c I had more time to do it and I always got a better workout in. And yes...it helps with the eating. I don't eat after dinner when I workout in the night time b/c there isn't enough time.
I say try it. See how it works for you.Even for a week and go from there.

I always do nights (9pm) these days. I just have not been loving the mornings! Now that it is getting lighter early I may go to mornings.

Let us know what you decide and how it works for you.

My schedule changes every week.....one week I work 9AM to 5PM and the next week I work 1PM to 9PM. I prefer to workout in the mornings, but if I happen to sleep in on my 9AM to 5PM work week I will work out in the evening. I notice I tend to get a better workout in the mornings and sometimes I may "not feel like doing it" in the evening after an exhausting day of work. I also feel the benefits of the endorphins the rest of the day after a morning workout:). My DH is the opposite...he just doesn't have the energy in the morning to workout and tends to get his energy boost at the end of the day.

I work out in the evenings, usually about 5:30 or 6 pm. Then I eat dinner. Usually it's late enough by the time I actually eat that I don't have urges for snacks. I like the evening workouts because they get my blood flowing after sitting at a desk all day. I've done them for so long now that when I do try a morning one, I just don't do well at all.

I ALWAYS worked out 7-8pm up until I became a SAHM. The only time I would exercise in day light (LOL) was on the weekends! Once in a blue moon I still exercise in the evenings if my schedule doesn't permit me to do it earlier.

Exercising at night was difficult in ways but I tend to eat my heaviest meal for dinner because that is when I'm the hungriest so although it was hard to get movin' after that, doing a good work out after that meal (I'd usually wait 1-2 hours after I ate) felt great because I didn't have to spend the rest of the night feeling "heavy" from eating.

Working out in the mornings or atleast earlier in the day is great because it gives me a big sense of accomplishment through out the rest of the day knowing that my workout is behind me!

I think there are positive and negative to BOTH!:)

I routinely work out between 5:00 and 7:00pm. I find I am able to burn off the stress of the day and I'm usually left energized enough to cook dinner and do some cleaning and settle in for a few minutes of TV watching. That's when I break out a Snackwell cookie or a graham cracker with milk.

BTW, forgive my igorance, but what is a "DH" A dreadlocked hippie? :)

I mix it up and sometimes work out at night and sometimes in the 8am. I try not to exercise after 8pm because then I can't sleep.

Morning person, I am not! Actually, throughout the years I have tried to workout in the morning, but I have realized I am not compatable with morning sweat.

Usually, I work out at least by 8:00 PM and finish by 9:00. Depending on the rotation I may even start as early as 7:30. Needless to say, I do eat afterwards because, not only do I stay up until around 1200 midnite, but I need the nutrients to replenish & feed my muscles. I have learned not to feel guilty about that & have seen results. Don't feel guilty about your last meal as long as everything else that day was in compliance to your goals.

Before my twin girls started kindergarten I worked out in the morning to Denise Austin. Now that they started kindergarten I am up at 5:30 they at 6:30 and out the door at 7:30 for school we have a 1/2 hour drive they start at 8:00 and I am with my little guy all day he does not let me workout so I workout at night. Since I have been with Cathe it requires my full attention. My daughters always ask me Mom you are really sweating and then it is followed by YUCK!!!! because I never broke a sweat with Denises' 1/2 hour show they love seeing all the new equipment and want to workout with me. My son just loves the weights he tries so hard. For 2 he does pretty good.

For years I have worked out in the am (5ish) but in Jan. signed up for a spinning class which was at 5:30PM. So two evenings a week I work out and usually the remaining days in the am. Lately I find that an extra hour + of sleep feels good! But if I have stuff to do after work, I make sure I get my hiney out of bed in the am! I find I do feel pretty good all day, though, when my workout is in the am.
