Anybody here done Amy Bento's all pump xtreme?

Yep. I have it and have done it several times, although I have not done the leg work as yet, since I have been focusing on B&G.

With the exception of the would-be pullups at the start of the back section, I find it enjoyable and effective. I feel very well worked-out afterward. I also like the long length since it gives you so many options (several premixes.) The production quality is excellent.

It was a great purchase for me, as were her hi/lo and kickbox xtreme workouts.

Hope this is helpful.

I LOVE this workout! I use the 3 day split premixes and they are terrific! (Would love for cathe to put these type premixes on all strength DVDs!)Unique twists on moves that really hit muscles in new way... LOTS of premises, Mix n Match.... a really great workout. As far as the makeshift pull-ups... Thats actally a positive for me as I have just completed P90X and wanted to continue w/ pullups. I do them on my Altus Home Gym (more like a door bowflex) so I still get my pull ups in~
Each Body part is worked with 3 exercises ... High rep counts
Equipment: Body Bar (optional), Tubes, Dumbell, Barbell, Plyo Pushups, Pull Up Bar or Device etc...
Only possible negatives (its all subjective ya know) is with all the various equipment comes alot of changes (you change with Amy so no pause) but my bedroom always looks like a tornado hit it after a workout! Small price to pay for a great & diiferent strength program.
Music... not the best (subjective)

I really enjoy APX. The premix options are fantastic. I like the 3 day splits, upper body premix and lower body premix. She has unique moves that you can really feel. The core work is good too. I prefer to do the premixes, I've only done it once, as produced.

I just tried the portions of All Pump Xtreme that are included on the Hi/Lo Xtreme dvd over the weekend for the first time and I was blown away by the different, effective exercises. My hamstrings and inner thighs are still sore from working them on Saturday.

The only drawback like others have said is all the equipment she uses. I wish I had a body bar or 2 barbells because it felt like I was switching back and forth between a loaded barbell and a non-loaded one a lot. I also don't have the red tubing so I had to be creative in how to get the right level of resistance with my green tubing or substitute other equipment.

Now that I've tried most of the exercises included on HLX and hearing about the great premixes, I'm going to order APX.

Have fun with it!

Sue

I did and found it too long for my taste (someone loaned it to me to try). I thought about getting it for the premixes, but found that I was happy with all the footage of APX in HLX. I love the HLX premix which utilizes the lower body work footage from APX...awesome premix and DOMS in my butt/thutt for days!

Hi there. I did it a couple days ago - not knowing when I started that the whole thing is 2 hours long (!)
I finished 75 minutes in the a.m. before I had to go to work, and did most of the rest in the evening. (I got fed- up by the middle of the core section).

I'm mixed about it. She certainly tries to exhaust you, and also your muscles. But I felt more exausted just by the general activity than by the "strength" work. (Strength in parentheses because its high rep, low weight movements are more likely to boost endurance than strength or muscle mass.) some of the exercises are good, some are losers, imo. For example, you put your foot through one end of a tube and kick it behind you, near your butt, pull the other end of the tube across your shoulder (while standing). and then start doing hamstring curls. I felt nothing. Also, there were some standing core work movements, such as holding weights as if you were going to do a push press, but bending sideways and down, and then back up towards center. Theoretically, these might work your trunk, but they didn't do much for me.

Finally, FYI - I used 2 or 3 times the weight for most exercises she did, esp. in the beginning. After an hour I was getting tired and lightened up. Not sure how effective that is, and that's one of the reasons I'm on the fence.
