Any Black Friday Shoppers out there?

So anyone planning on braving the crowds this Black Friday? I have an important appointment at 9 a.m., but with some of the sales I've heard about, I might have to drag myself out of bed early to get to the store. Not that I can afford it, but Best Buy is supposedly selling a 50" Plasma TV for $898. I paid more than that for my old 32" flat panel tv. I just hate fighting the INSANE crowds.

Nah...I LOATHE crowds...it makes for hot and miserable shopping! :) Just wanted to pop in and say CONGRATS! :)

We will figure our plan of attack on Thanksgiving, but have to be back to open OUR stores at 9am...That means we have to be done shopping by 8 (our stores are almost an hour from shopping)...If it's worth it, we will be out...We aren't really on the hunt for any electronics or anything...We know what we're getting the girls, and we're re-doing our bedroom...Pretty cut-and-dry holiday this year...

Hell no but a train will be taking me to mid town Manhattan (I'm heading to catch a band with friends) where I will curse the hoards of materialists.

No way! I will be nowhere near a mall etc. There is absolutely nothing I want that badly.

I agree! Plus, there are usually sales continuing all the way to Christmas where you can get stuff just as cheap, can go at a normal time, and don't have to get crushed by hoards of crazy people!

But at the same time, I applaud those of you who do get out there because it seems like it could be fun in a warped kind of way...:) Chefkate, you go girl! Everyone have fun shopping and be safe out there this holiday season!!

Nope..I avoid it like the plague. My DS works at Best Buy and is dreading black friday. He starts at 4:00AM and said last year it was mass hysteria:confused: People camped outside the doors all night and then tried to block him from getting through the line as if he was butting in! Crazy!

denise, you're right! it is totally fun! i honestly dont even buy that much. its just a hoot to see the ones that do and to see all the crazies!:p:D

There is no power in heaven or on earth that could drag my @$$ to the mall on Black Friday . As a matter of fact, I will not be stepping foot in ANY shopping mall until after the new year! I can't STAND it!!!

NO! I usually avoid malls and I pretty much dislike shopping, anyway, so, there is no way I'd go into that mess. Nope, I'll be in bed, drinking coffee, and reading the paper while the shoppers try to kill each other for that bargain.

Plus, my family & friends have pretty much decided that our gift to each other is NOT to buy gifts! The gift of time and not wasting money is truly the best gift of all!

Michelle and TeTe, I totally agree with you 100%! You ladies are more than welcome to come to suburban Detroit for breakfast instead-my treat:)

I do but they're more like surgical strike missions...and I don't like to be out when its dark in the morning. Just too unsafe in LA...

My husband and I both LOVE black friday shopping!! We are in the market for a TV this Christmas and it looks like we might get the best deal then. Plus, the craziness of the day just sort of 'kick starts' the holiday season for us!

DH & I used to be one of the crazies out there before the sun came up & did most of our Christmas shopping on black Friday. We stopped doing that MANY yrs ago. People are just to rude it seems, not all but so many.
I do the majority of my shopping online & love it. Everything arrives while kids are at school & dh at work so I can sneak it up to hide w/o any the wiser!
