Ok, I'm in Ohio under snow and bored to tears....so don't flame me because I'm addicted to this silly show..but I am!

Any other AI hussies in here? :)

Heidi

I just moved to Ohio and am an American Idol JUNKIE!!! (We have a lot in common!!!) I love that show! I am ready to get on the treadmill right now to watch! (It is a great show to workout to at night :))

The guys were so much better last week, let's see if the girls can catch up. How hot is that Aussie??? Yowza!

No - not an AI fan, but all you Ohioans BETTER join us Ohio Catheites for our get-together at the Cleveland marathon on May 18th. I wanna' put FACES with these NAMES! (Ok - scuttles out of your thread now. Thanks!)

Yeah, he is a cutie. The guys are really good and the ones I look forward most to watching. I usually DVR it, though, which honestly saves me 1/2 of the time due to all those damn commercials. Also, if one singer is particularly bad or the judges comments are too harsh/silly then I just "blip" right through them.

I big fat puffy heart my DVR and my American Idol :7

Hey! Do they have a 5k along with the marathon? DH and I are really getting into 5ks and my in-laws are all up in Cleveland. I'll have to see if we are busy or DH is on call that weekend as that sometimes gums things up a bit...dang careers getting in our way all the time!

<Lets go of Lorrie's ankle gently and thanks for coming!>

Heidi

I've been watching since the 1st season. I have no shame. :)

You caught me Heidi. No - no 5K, but a 10K. Actually, I signed up to walk the half marathon. Last year I walked the Cleveland 3-day, and even though I cannot walk it this year (bad timing), I'm still going to train with my 3-day walking buddies, and they use the 1/2 marathon as a training tool.

So some of us Catheites thought it would be a great opportunity to walk and talk and get to know one another. If there is enough interest we were kicking around the idea of meeting on Saturday, the 17th, and maybe conning Mama Deb or Clarissa into working us out, then staying at a Cleveland hotel the night of the 17th so we would be downtown for the race. COME ON - JOIN US!!! Here is a link to the site:

Ive been watching AI this season-first season that ive watched the show all the way through it!

I agree that last night the best performance was Chickezie...loved that beatles song, the way he did it was awesome! I would buy the single (and not ashamed to admit it:p;-))

My favorite is the little guy that grins all the time, but his performace last night wasn't as good!

I also agree that the country girl bombed last night, she may be going home! I will be watching tonight!:)

I'm with Jennifit! That Michael Johns is smokin'! And I really like Brooke White-she sang "Let it Be". And I like David Cook and that Jason kid with the dreads. I did feel terrible for David Archuleta last night. He totally bombed-forgetting the lyrics, etc. Should be interesting to see who goes tonight. I think it'll be either Kristy Lee Cook-the country singer or David Hernandez.

IA Michael is way hot...;)...I also felt bad for David Archuleta, I guess the Beatles was not his thing! I agree too that Chikezie was the best. I think Carly did a good job and LOL when my DH asked if the world was ready for her tattoos?...Where in the world has HE been!!..:D...it will be interesting to see who gets voted off...:)

My overall favorties are Michael Johns, David Archuleta, David Cook, Brooke White and Carly Smithson. That said, I can't remember a season where everyone was so talented. It's so enjoyable watching them.

I think Kristy Lee Cook or Ramiele Malubay will be going home tonight.

My least favorite contestant is Amanda Overmyer. I think she's there because she's different, but she definitely doesn't have the talent or the voice to match most of the top 12.

No need to be embarrassed about watching AI. It's a true gift to be blessed with a beautiful voice, and this show is a great showcase for people who have the talent to make it big.

I agree with you Jeanne. I think Kristy will go home. I don't like Amanda either. It seems she just keeps singing the same type of song and it's getting really boring. David Archuleta really lost it last night. I know they said he was getting boring too but I thought he would have been better singing Yesterday even though it's a ballad. I know I'm kinda contradicting myself but I like David a whole lot better than Amanda and I think he's much more talented so I want to see him shine. I also don't care for Syesha so I don't mind if she goes tonight either.

I totally forgot about Carly Smithson! She was great last night. She was so confident onstage. It was fun to watch. I do think that the sniping was a bit much yesterday. As much as Simon can be rude, his opinions are usually spot on. Paula and Randy say the same thing over and over with no good constructive criticism. And Ryan was extremely rude. I like when they banter, but come on! It was unnecessary imho.

I love Carly! Also, I gotta vote for my local San Diegan. Oh, the Fields restaurant is a great Irish pub (this is where she worked). It's THE best authentic Iris pub here in San Diego. :9

Edited to add: Can you tell I'm hungry? Who on earth would equate food to singing? LOL :7

It definitely seemed to go beyond 'playful', especially between Simon and Ryan.

I agree. I usually agree with Simon. With Paula ("you look beautiful tonight") and Randy ("dawg!", "dude!"), I sometimes can't figure out what they are trying to say. And, as you say, they don't often give much constructive criticism that the contestants can use to improve. ("I'm not feelin' it" doesn't help much, does it?)

David Archeletta (sp?). I was surprised he fudged the lyrics, several times .

OMG! There is 'country' and there is 'country.' She took the Minnie-Pearl-country route and it just did NOT work. I can see a bit of country flavor to the song, but not turning it into how-down! Yee ha!
