Another Squat Rack Question

Do you think Squat Rack Legs would still be beneficial if you don't have a squat rack or a heavy weighted vest? Obviously, I wouldn't get as much out of it, but would it be better to go with what I have, or should I do Plyo Legs instead? I can get a 60# barbell over my head, and I have a 10# weighted vest--so I'd be doing 70#s. My 1RM for the heaviest exercises is suggested as 148#.

I already have a lot of definition in my legs, which tend to be short and stocky--I'd like them to be leaner-looking. My goals for my legs are mainly endurance and running strength/speed. I assumed Plyo Legs would be better for my goals, but now I'm wondering.

Thanks,

It's always hard to say what would be best for someone else, but I would say give Plyo a shot, I ended up REALLY enjoying those workouts, they were hard but a lot of fun and so different from any other leg workouts.

In meso 3 you lift very heavy weights, but less reps, I think if you can't get to the max weight (or close) you should be lifting, you won't get as much out of it because of the reduced reps.

Maybe...

With your 1RM, it would be impossible (I think) for you to get such a heavy barbell safely on your shoulders. However, if you have extremely heavy dumbbells, you may be able to do the workout with those instead. I used 45-lb. DBs for the front squat because I didn't like holding a very heavy barbell in front of me the way Cathe and crew did.

But if you don't use heavy enough weights, you won't be getting nearly the benefit that you should.

Thank you both for your very helpful replies. I'll be going the Plyo route, as my dumbbells only go up to 35#.

Thanks again,
