Another reason to wear real shoes

Although I'll admit I wear flip flops and sandals often. I shudder to think what is lurking on the pair I wore on Bourbon Street this Spring!!!

I saw this link on MSN and I refuse to read it because it will probably make me want to stop wearing flip-flops and I just can't bear the thought.

But maybe I should have DD read it. I am so tired of cleaning dirty feet...

Now I'm doubly glad I only wear flip-flops to run through the sprinkler in the backyard (which I did just yesterday, actually).

My MIL wears them ALL THE TIME and pretty much ALL YEAR LONG. Ugh.

For those afraid to read it, it basically just points out that there are serious bacteria that can linger to the bottom of your shoes causing illness and even deadly infections. Basically, if you are going to wear them, DO NOT touch your feet or adjust your shoe with your hands. If you do, wash your hands immediately. And scrub your feet after words. However, if you have an open cut on your foot, you should just avoid them.

How can dirt and germs NOT get onto flip flops? I mean, they're hardly held onto your foot by anything, right?

My podiatrist is planning a wealthy retirement based on the people's love of all flops all the time. Aside from germs, they are just sooo bad for your feet. Ouch!

Adorable! I think part of what makes the Teva and Ecco shoes so great is they have so many adjustable parts that they can fit virtually any foot comfortably.
