LAST EDITED ON Jan-09-02 AT 02:37PM (Est)[p]Hi Cathe,

I want to let you know how much I appreciate your tapes and DVD's.

I had a bad relapse/weight gain in 2000. Since Feb. 2001 I've lost 70 lbs and become quite the consistent video exerciser.

I've always enjoyed your strength training, but in the past couple of months I've really come to appreciate your cardio.

Last night I did MIC in its ENTIRETY, including the jumps at the end, without modification. It felt so good, and I was so proud of myself.

I did a holiday rotation that was mostly your strength DVD's. Six weeks of S&H, PS, CTX, MIS, and PH (along with cardio, pilates, and yoga). Boy, I'm a new woman! Rather than gaining over the holidays I lost 13 lbs and gained alot of muscle strength. I recommend bringing in the new year with Slow & Heavy!

I love your professionalism, intensity, cueing and integrity. I know when I put in a Cathe tape, it will be a workout well spent.

I like other instructors too. I enjoy complex choreography and I do yoga and pilates (I hear you're doing a yoga tape!),and I like diversity. But even with the changes, I feel better knowing I have a wide variety of Cathe's to choose from when I want to know for sure I'll get into my target range or do a strength training program that works!

Just had to say that!

You should be very proud of yourself! It's nice to have tapes you look forward to doing. Just curious....what sort of eating plan did you, and ARE you following now?

Honeybunch,

I initially used Richard Simmon's Food Mover (and I'd note that at that time I could only do Richard Simmon's videos - but I improved quickly). Food Mover is based on the American Diabetic Exhchange System and uses the same kind of food exchanges that the old Weight Watchers used to.

I started to have trouble around Sept. 11th (I used to live in NYC and felt very affected by the attack). I gained a bit, then decided I needed a fresh start to get me back on track. I started going to WW meetings in early November, and have lost 13 lbs on their Point system since then (that's also around when I started my Cathe strength rotation) - for a total 70 lb loss. I have about 15 lbs to go to get to WW lifetime.

Generally, I try to eat low fat, high carb, with very little sugar.

Great choices with the eating plans! I have a lot of respect for Richard Simmons and what he does, also with WW. Both are plans that you can take with you forever. Good, good, good for you!

Jane, you have my absolute admiration. Thank you for being such an inspiration - which I need right now!!!!!

YOU JUST ROCK.....

JaneC,
Wow! MIC in its ENTIRITY! You entire story was very inspirational, but that part especially! You should be very proud! I'm impressed, and you have motivated me to try that video again (last time I tried it it made me cry!)

Thanks for the kind words Sarah!

I failed to mention that I did use a six inch step (rather than Cathe's 8") for the step portion, which definitely made the the power segment at the end much more doable.
