Amy Bento Presale

Okay, I REALLY need some step routines along the lines of Cathe's LOW MAX (i.e., tough but relatively low impact or with minimal plyo moves). I checked her website and it sounds like she has 3 or 4 step routines that might fit the bill. Anyone familiar with AB able to tell me which dvd's would best suit me?

Amy Bento's step workouts are a lot more complex than Cathe's IMHO. I have all of Amy's workouts, but have yet to try the step ones.(too scared) I have read that some people get frustrated trying to learn it, while others love the challenge. Maybe GiGi can shed more light on Amy's step as she loves the complex choreography. I do love her Hi/lo and kickbox workouts though.

I love Amy's step as well, but it's definitely not low impact. She does have a modifier, but the complaints on the modifier are that the moves are a lot lower intensity. There is a definite learning curve as well as Amy does not really break down the moves (in combo four she even makes the comment, "If you're seeing that for the first time, I'll bet your eyes are ready to pop from your head."). But wow, it's a blast once you get it as there are no endless repeats.

I preordered these. Then I felt guilty because I have so many of her workouts that I haven't even tried yet. So this morning I broke out Hi/Lo Dome Challenge. I'm not a big fan of hi/lo but I really liked this workout. It's not too hard to follow and it's a real calorie burner (according to my heart rate monitor I burned around 600 calories). I've tried ASC 2 a few times but always get frustrated but I think I can get this workout after a few tries. I didn't have time to do the Dome part but I really want to do it soon since I recently bought a BOSU and haven't used it yet.

WHAT? Me? How ever did you know I love Amy's step...LOL?!

If you are looking for Low Max type workouts, Amy's step is not for you. Her step is athletic but way more complex than Cathe's choreography. Amy does very little break down and her cueing is spot on without a lot of lengthy explanation. Her choreography is fresh, fun, tough, and creative. I used to hate complex choreography, especially step but I found a new instructor who put out a fun, complex choreographed step 2workout promising more of the same. But she ended up changing her step style to try and please everyone so I was disappointed. I then gave Amy a try and haven't looked back. I wouldn't say I love complex choreography as a blanket statement but I definitely enjoy Amy's choreography, impact, music, well...everything.

Thanks for your posting. I am ordering her two new workouts. I am interested in her "kickboxing xtreme". Any one did it? How did it compared to Cathy's K&P or KM? How did it compare to Turbo Jam?

Thanks

I can't compare it to Turbo Jam, but KBX is good. A lot of people complain about her form and she has come "funny" combo's, but I really like it. One combo still gives me trouble though. KBX is more like hi/lo with a kickbox flare, which I actually enjoy. I'm not a kickboxing expert and I don't expect Amy or any other instructor to necessarily be a kickboxing expert as I'm doing it for the cardio factro and for variety. I would say over all the intensity is comparable to Cathe's kickbox but the combo's are a bit more involved and complex.

P.S. I MAY be able to preorder Amy's newest this weekend after all....Valentines Day present...woo hoo!

Thanks, Angela.

I tried to order kbx. But it did not put into the same shopping cart, I am kind of confused. Hmmm, this technology thing....

If you keep having problems, contact Amy via a p.m. or on her forum. She will take care of you. I think she may be gone, filming, right now, but her customer service is spot on.
