amount you work out

My time varies based on my work schedule, but generally I do get 6 days and usually for an hour, but sometimes that varies and 30 minutes is all I can get in (thank heavens for premixes!). On the weekends, I might do longer like 90 minutes.

4 days/week: 75 min per day
2 days/week: 2 hours each day(weekend workouts)
1 day week: Full rest day

On average, I work out an hour a day, six days a week. I also count stretching as a "workout" day. And when I do longer workouts (usually not over 90 minutes), it usually is because I'm adding core work and a longer stretch. I also alternate them with shorter workouts (25-45 minutes). I've also had 90-ish minute workouts by adding some cardio on after doing a weight workout. Once, I did a workout marathon, doing four different activities (spinning, weight work, rebounding, stretch) for a total of about 2 hours.

I find that rather than doing long workouts, it's important to watch what I eat as I get older.

IMO, anyone who works out 2 hours+ per day is either an athlete getting ready for an event, very young with time on their hands, or someone possibly bordering on exercise bullemia.

I work out about an hour six days a week and sometimes 1 hour and 20 mintues (since I've been doing Cathe). The longest workout I do is when I do Pilates and Yoga after my usual workout....that can be 1 hour and 45 mintues, but I don't do that often. Basically, I try to keep it to an hour a day.

60 to 90 minutes 5 to 6 days a week. If it's longer than that it is b/c I'm trying to work more stretches in.

I work out 7 days a week.

Each day is a video in the morning, which means at least an hour. And then a 3 mile run in the evening, which is about 1/2 hour. So, my total comes out to 90 minutes per day, 7 days a week.

Jeanne Marie...

Do you run 7 days a week?

My workout schedule is the same as yours - I do a video in the morning and run in the evening. I try not to run more than 6 consecutive days in a row because I worry about overuse injuries. Sometimes I'll run 8 days in a row, but I usually keep it to six and then ride my spinning bike on the nights I don't run to get a break from the impact.

RE: Jeanne Marie...

Hi Erica!

Yes, I run 7 days a week. I have a route I take outside that includes hills, but if it's too cold or raining I use the treadmill. I have been pretty lucky not having any injuries, but I'm almost 49, so I know the day is coming I'll have to cut back on the running.

I workout about 2.5 to 3.5 hours per day almost everyday because I enjoy it. I do videos in the morning (and that is when I do my cardio). Gym at lunchtime (lifting). And then the gym again at night or walking on the treadmill at home. HOWEVER, some of the time at the gym is spent socializing -- so it's not the same as working out the whole time.

I don't have kids or a SO (anymore) -- that's how I can fit all the exercise into my days.

Usually it's about an hour on 4 weekdays, one weekday off and up to an hour and a half on Saturday and Sunday. I love weekend workouts where I can take my time and not have to watch the clock.

Tuesdays I clean and donot have time or the energy to fit in a workout so I use my cleaning day as a "rest" day. I finish cleaning on Wednesday, but still get a workout in. So I would have to say I workout 5-6 days a week as I will include another rest day if my body says so (TTOM, etc.) I usually workout for 1 1/2 hours each workout days which also include ab workouts which I include in whatever I am doing. I don't look forward to cardio, but enjoy KPC, so I use KPC as my cardio workout mostly if my knees are achy and I cannot run at the time. Boot Camp scares me, but love the jumping jacks in mid-air and look forward to them. LOL

7 days a week. Usually about 90 minutes, but I really make an effort to not go over that (because of my daughter). There's usually 60 - 90 minutes of cardio and weights. If I'm only doing cardio OR weights, then I will tack on 30 minutes of yoga. So I'm pretty much never less than 90 minutes.

I work out 6 days a week. I usually workout for 1 1/2 hours 3 days and 2 hours the other 3 days to incorporate extra stretching.
