Anybody watching??? I am not crazy about it this year....I was hoping for more people like Chris Daughtry.....

Anyway, does anybody have any favorites? I guess I am leaning towards the guy that does the beat box thing. I think the bald guy would be good if he would sing better songs. (such as rock or alternative)

I am slightly disappointed though.....

Sara

Sara,
Im with ya I am disappointed too!! But I do like the beat box boy-hes my favorite guy so far. The ladies Im not sure who is my favorite yet but they are better then the guys!!

Lisa

I think sometimes the judges don't like alternative. They seemed to with Chris though. None of these guys are as good as the girls to me. I will say I do like the bald guy...hope his selection gets better!

This year is dissapointing to me too. I remember last season I wouldn't miss a show for anything, but this season I search for other things to watch first, and if nothing is on i'll watch it. Maybe it will get a little more interesting - hopefully it will I should say!

With the exception of Lakisha Jones and Melinda Doolittle, it's a pretty underwhelming season. The guys for the most part are positively boring.

My husband and I wanted to see a rocker in the show, but no one made it this year. The men seemed to get better last night, but too many sounded boybandish. I liked the guy that did the Jason Mraz song and the blonde haired guy who makes all those sounds. I think the girls are more exciting.

I don't know about previous years because this is the first year I've watched it. I love that Beat box guy. I thought he did great last night. Jamiriquoi is one of my favorite bands. That Sanji guy better be gone. He just gives me the ickies! The way he never stops that weird smile even when the judges are telling him how bad he is.
And I have to say that I love that dawg Randy! LOL. And ok I will admit a little secret here... I think Simon is sexy.
LD

I thought the guys did a lot better last night though, thank goodness. I like the beat box guy and the justin timberlake guy and I think the tall african american guy that sang the Marvin gaye song is so cute and I like his voice. I am looking forward to tonight to watch the girls.

Susan

I actually like Sundance, now that he's returned to his original form. And I like Chris, the curly-haired guy. But I'm in agreement, the girls rock this season and it is more boring this year than last year. Maybe because Chris Daughtry was/is so hot! I love his CD.

Terri

I thought Chris was pretty cool last night. If he can work in more of that kind of memorable stuff, he will go far. I thought Sundance really did well, too. Of the girls, I have to say Melinda is my fave.

Last season though, Chris is my boy. He was the best as far as I'm concerned. I am loving, loving his CD!

I like Blake, Chris and Rudy?? (the bald guy). I look for Sanjaya, Nick, Brandon and the hispanic looking boy to be the next four guys to leave. They absolutely bore me to death.

The girls have very stong, powerful voices. I don't have any favorites amongst the girls yet.

I'm definitely not too impressed with 'the boys,' but some of 'the girls' are smokin'

The 'boys' (I hate calling 29-year-olds 'boys' or 'girls,' but 16 year olds seem a bit young to be 'men' and 'women') were better this week than last, but as much as I think he's a nice guy, the Indian (?) guy has to go.

If the ones I like go into the finals, it will be a batch of ethnic women and white guys.

I know they raised the age limit after first or second season, but it doesn't really seem fair to have 16-year-olds competing against 29 (or is it 30?) year olds. And what about the 'professional singers'? There are at least two contestants that make their living as back-up singers (though I really like the woman, and hope she goes into the finals).

Tuesday of last week and last night are the only times I have watched, ever. The only reason I have taken an interest now is because AJ is one of my daughter's friends. I'm not around on Thursday evenings so I haven't seen any of the women yet. Even though my opinion is biased I would not say that AJ is the best. I think I like the Jusin Timberlake looking guy.

Okay...how about the girls?

last night, my faves were the young one (name?) and the one who sang Beyonce. Oh the the first one....sang heart.....i think (I don't have these names down!!)

just not into it very much....probably just missing chris daughtry.....sigh....

Sara

LOL I hear ya Sara. I'm a Daughtry fan, too :)

I think Melinda owned it last night, but Lakisha was right up there in the running. I liked Stephanie Edwards (Beyonce song), too. The others were fairly forgettable.

That Haley chick stinks. Antonella needs to get the hook, pronto. Being hot only gets you so far.

I haven't seen everyone, but I liked Stephanie last night. Know who I HATE????? Simon the judge guy. x( When he gets really nasty, I just have to change the channel. These people work so hard, they don't deserve cruelty. Constructive criticism, yes. But it's too painful to listen to him.
Nancy

As for the girls I look for Antonella and Leslie to leave tonight.

I think LaKisha is the best and predict her to win the whole thing.

A previous poster said she didn't like Simon. I often have the same opinion as Simon. I might phrase it a bit differently than he does but I think he is the most honest with the feedback out of all the judges. Randy's not bad either and he's more sympathetic. Paula just can't bear to hurt anyone's feelings and doesn't really give very good honest feedback.

I agree.
If contestants listen to what his criticisms are, they often end up being better.

He is rather blunt at times, but I doubt that he's as tough as what they might run into when they actually get into the music industry. If they have to thin a skin now, they might never make it in the profession.

I think most of what Paula says is completely useless to the contestants. Sure, she doesn't want to hurt their feelings, but she rarely gives any constructive criticism that would help them grow.
