SO what did you think? I agreed with the judges, the second half of the show rocked! I know that everyone thinks Ace is a cutie but his voice isn't as strong as some of the others.

Anyway, I really enjoyed watching Taylor, he kills me everytime! And what kind of moves was that? He is gonna throw is back out one of these days.I love him!!! I don't find him hot or anything but he just seems so sweet!!!
Chris rocked as usual.I was looking forward to his performance.
Some of them are really good though and its hard to pick a favorite but the second half of the show kicked A$$!!!!

Yeah, I love Taylor--his moves are so funny and it's just fun to watch him perform. And I forget her name, but the first girl that sang (I think)--blonde hair, from the South, she seems very funny and real, but I don't know if she's got the best voice. Mandesa is fun to watch and she can definitely sing. And Lisa seems soooo mature for only being 16!?!

It is hard to pick a favorite.
 
Oh man, I love American Idol this season. There are so many great people. I think for the girls, I like Katherine and of course Mandisa although I didn't think she was at her best tonight. For the guys, Chris hands down. I also like Taylor. His voice is so great and he is so fun to watch. If Chris went out and made an album tonight I would buy it in a heartbeat. His voice is so raw and I like the type of music he sings. Ace is cute and all but he just doesn't have the voice like Chris and Taylor. It will be interesting to see how things go this season because there are a lot of good ones.

I just want to say I love Simon. Some people hate him but I think he is great. He tells it like it is and doesn't sugar-coat things. I hate it how Paula tells everyone they are a "breath of fresh air". Give me a break. If they were bad, say it. Simon in my opinion really says the truth and I think he is just funny with some of the things he says. It's like, did he really just come up with that!

I loved Taylor, he is truly original. He's got soul! and I thought Katherine was great, I love her voice and I think she is very pretty - was on the fence about the dress. I also love Chris - he is great, he knows how to give his best - no guessing who he is.
 
Chris is awesome! I hope he ends up in the final two. I also like Katharine and Mandisa a lot! Kellie cracks me up with her comments about the shoes and her dress. She seems very real. Taylor is just fun to watch! I don't know how far he'll go but he seems like he's having a blast out there and really enjoys performing. Lisa has a great voice and I agree she is very mature for her age. I wasn't too sure about this season at first but now it's getting interesting.

WOW, Chris really rocked the house last night! He is the best in my opinion and always gives me chills to hear him sing! Ace is nice eye candy, but his singing is not as good as the others. Kelly just trips me out! That is something I would say about those lashes too! She is just a down-to-earth girl. Taylor is just so likeable! Katharine is a beautiful girl and she sang very good!! Melissa sang well too! Now Kevin just sang bad to me. I was actually embarrassed for him.

Hey, no dissing Kevin, now! He could be my brother's twin! :p DH and I were watching him last night, and then all of a sudden DH belts out "HE LOOKS JUST LIKE TONY!" And he does! Except my brother doesnt' wear glasses anymore and he is a huge jock. I have a picture of him in my top picture trail under "my album". Just look at the face, not the bod! ;)

Well, I have been a Taylor fan from the beginning. I think that he sings from his heart and the music is just in him when he performs, he is so incredible! Katherine really did well last night, too, huh? I normally love Mandisa, but last night just wasn't her night, I think. She always does well, but she has done better. Of course Chris was good, and he is soooo good at song selection and chooses the perfect song for him.

How many are going home, one or two? Who do you think they will be?

Taylor has PASSION! I admire him for it, and love his voice. Chris is awesome, i was so happy that he did a great job with a Stevie Wonder song!:+ :+ Ace is cute, but he is not a powerhouse! Kevin needs to go. I agree with Charlotte, i was embarassed for him!:-( I love this show!

I thought the stage and music overwhelmed some of the singers, like Ace and Kelly.

My take on last night:

The first few weren't very good. Ironic, since Paula had just said this is the best group ever (don't they say that every year?).

Ace: If he keeps giving performances like this, his looks aren't going to carry him much farther. His voice was overshadowed by the band. He was off-key at the beginning, and I didn't find his performance interesting.

Kelly: Too twangy for me! She may be lucky that country music is so popular, but she doesn't seem to be able to leave the genre.

Elliot: looked scared! Great final note.

Mandisa: She is so full of confidence! The first one who didn't seem afraid of the big stage.

Bucky: I liked his performance. Agree with Simon that the hair style has to go! (I think some of the stylists made some bad choices).

Melissa: Hers was okay.

Lisa: the best singer so far in the night. Seemed very confident on stage. That what's with the odd "ha ya!" and "whoo!"? Has she been hanging out with Taylor too long?

Kevin: better than I expected, but his voice is still so juvenile compared to that of the others (even of the same age).

Katharine: Best of the batch to this point. She took the song and made it sound original. Ugly dress.

Taylor: Great vocal. I'm glad he's cut down on the "Joe Cocker wannabe" moves. But please, someone tell him NOT to dance!

Paris: great. She's got some pipes! Made the song sound original.

Chris: He rocks!

As for who should go, I'm still with Kevin leaving.

I like Simon, too. And even though he is often harsh in how he gives his criticism, these aspiring stars will certainly get much harsher treatment on the way to fame.

I'm tired of Paula. She's "overwhelmed" by everyone. Everyone is "great". Or she gives praise that is of absolutely no constructive value (like "I like your dress"!). Vapid! I think she's got a crush on Ace, because his performance didn't merit her praise.

I wonder if the contestants start to see through her? She reminds me of a colleague of mine who used to say everything is "great" (no thesaurus available, I guess). After a while, any praise from her is of no value.

And Simon doesn't just say nasty things. When he praises something, it's deserving of that praise, so it makes that praise more valuable than one of Paula's "I love everything" comments.

Me too. Why was Kevin still around? Melissa sang good even though she messed up, so yeah, I am shocked too. Kevin will be going though...just a matter of time. Maybe Ace will show us what he has been holding back? I don't want my eye candy to go. LOL!

I cannot believe that Kevin wasn't even in the bottom three! :eek: I was so surprised that Melissa went home before he did, so surprised. I have always loved her voice, but I think that it was a mistake to sit on the chair the first half of her song - that really constricted her breathing, thus her voice. :( Who the heck is voting for Kevin? I still don't get it. I mean he is a sweet kid, but come on! x(

Yes, I was shocked! Melissa has a smokey voice, her performance wasn't the best, but Kevin is by far the worst!x( He is NO WAY a sex symbol! and his voice is not good enough to be in the final 12! I was disappointed, but oh well!:p

I was watching Veronica Mars and flipping back to AI during commercials. I saw that Ace was in the bottom 3, and Melissa went, but who was the third person in the bottom 3?

I'm surprised Kevin wasn't in the bottom 3 (I'm actually disappointed he's not gone yet. Must be the 12 year old girl vote, or the "aw, he's so cute!" vote.)
 
Ugh.. I can't stand Kevin. There is a kid like that in my sons school - he is so obnoxious - cocky when it is NOT justified. But AI is smart.. they manage to keep him on for the shock value. Makes people talk about it for sure.

I LOVE chris :) not sure if he is the american idol type... but agree I would buy his stuff for sure :) Wish those side burns would go. I know its not about looks.


Funny with Kelly/Ace - the eye candy thing but neither are very good.

This crop is the best of any of the AI seasons - I'm SO tickled with Taylor because he's so fun to watch, he has so much fun himself (I think he's the best entertainer) AND he can sing! For sure the most unique contestant. To me it's a contest between him & Chris.

AND - I really kind of enjoy Kevin. He's having fun with his new-found fame, but I'm sure he knows he won't make it much farther. I love his attitude.

Lisa was the third person in the bottom 3. I didn't like her this week. I like her better doing ballads. I can't believe Kevin didn't go this week or last week. I liked Melissa even though she messed up and I still miss Gedeon.
 
I still can't believe America chose Kevin & Bucky over Gideon. I haven't been keeping up with the show, but I've heard Chris sing one song and it wasn't all that to me....it was more like yelling. Maybe that particular night was not his and I missed all his other performances......
