If you ever get an opportunity...listen to Chris Tomlin's version of Amazing Grace. It is like the original but with added lyrics. Very nice! :7 I used to sob when I heard it. I listen to it often while I run.

My husband sang Chris Tomlin's version a few days ago at my grandmother's funeral. Everybody was in tears and I had several people comment on how they loved that version.

Oh Jacque! I can understand why. That is one of my all time favorite songs...well, actually any Chris Tomlin song is a fav. I absolutely love love to sing it at church. I also love to listen to it while I am stretching after a workout.
I am so sorry to hear of your Grandmother's passing, but as you know, she is in a blessed place surrounded by love.

Hey Janie! Amazing Grace was just out in the theaters this past winter, so I am not sure if it is out to rent yet. If it is it would be in the New Release section. It has Albert Finney, Ioan Gruffud, Rufus Sewell among others. It really is one of the best movies because just when you feel like the world is ugly and people are selfish beyond hope, there those few that are full of redemption and repentance and fight tooth and nail to make this world better. It revolves around the man who wrote the song Amazing Grace, Rev. John Newton, and the man who fought in British parliament to ban slavery, William Wilburforce. Very moving!!!

Denise- Thank you for your kind words. It's one of my favorites also.

Janie and Missy- Amazing Grace isn't out on DVD yet. I've been looking for it myself. It had a release date of sometime in June, now it just says unknown release date (this is according to Netflix). Keep looking for it though because it should be soon.
