After STS

It will be too hard for me to commit to the schedule again once the kidlets are out of school. Factoring in vacations and weekends away...hopefully!:D

Once I do my last recovery week (next week!) I am planning on doing Meso 2 again because I loved it so dang much! I'll start all of STS over again in September when the Indians go back to school!

I'm thinking of doing 2-3 wks of full body and circuits to give my muscles a break from all the heavy lifting.

I'm hoping that Cathe comes up with a June Post-STS Maintenance rotation. If she doesn't, then I'll probably do Chalene Extreme, since I've had it since December and haven't tried it yet.

I am taking a few weeks off from STS and going to try and do 2 total body workout per week and then come back and do just STS 1 or 2 not sure yet because I want to do more of an endurance type of workout for the summer since my body does better with this type of workout.

At the moment, I am thinking of, like Sandra, starting CLX in June. I will do another round of STS when Shock Cardio comes out.

Roselyn - I just finished last week. I tried to do something today with some weights and just wasn't ready. My plan is to do full body, endurance work - there are some plans I've seen in magazines I want to try in order to focus on certain body parts, I will do kettlebells (been missing those!), and some DVDs for weight - probably full body work but Amy Bento's SloMo has also been calling my name. I just want different for a while. Then I want to do STS in an undulating periodization manner (I think!)

i read a post somewhere that cathe said the june rotation will be a post STS. i think it said STS will be incorporated into it.

shana, when you say full body, do you mean weights or what?

Hi,

I'm planning on taking a couple of weeks to do my own thing, then do a p90x+ rotation. I need a break from traditional weight lifting and I got great results with that last summer.

Tracy

This is my rest/recovery week and then I plan to start CLX next week. Also curious to see what Cathe posts for the June rotation.

I'm still trying to decide!
I know I want to go to full body workouts. I was thinking about doing a 4 week full body circuit rotation(combination of Jari Love, TRX, and Valerie Waters- I want a Bikini Body), then move on to a short rotation of CLX (6 weeks- 2 weeks in each cycle), and then 8 weeks of P90X.

As much as I loved STS, I need a break so I can go back to it as refreshed as the first day I tried it.;)

I have been wondering the same thing. I finished STS 2 weeks ago and started doing 4DS last week but I'm just not motivated and feeling kinda burnt out. So, I'm going back to kettlebells, yoga and cardio until my motivation returns.

I'm starting M2 next week (I had to take a 3 week break due to a shoulder issue :() and I'm already planning to start a kettlebell rotation after I complete M3. I love STS but I love KB's, too, and I like the idea of going back and forth between the 2 styles of training.

Judi, what kind of results did you get with STS, and do you like the Valor Squat Stands? I just ordered a pair yesterday and I'm excited to get them. I probably won't use them for squats -- I wanted them for bench presses because the standard racks are too big for my Troy Lite barbells and my workout space. Do you feel safe using them for bench presses? Are they good and sturdy?

Not sure. I'm on M3, doing plyo legs now and I was thinking I might do M3 again with a squat rack IF I'm able to get a squat rack before I'm done with M3. If I had a gym membership I'd do one of the routines over at FigureAthlete. There's always something in their routines that requires equipment I don't have at home (cable machines and an apparatus for chin-ups, for instance... I've had to improvise) so I'm stuck. Thus, I'll probably take a short break before starting STS again. Next time, though, I'll track everything I do because I pretty much freestyled it this time.

Hi Michele!

My strength improved and I saw more definition in my upper body after STS. I didn't weigh, measure or take pics because my goal was to lift heavier which I achieved. My massage therapist commented on my new tricep bump so that was cool;)

The Valor squat stands worked great for flat bench press but was a little tough with incline BP. I used my 18" high weight bench because my step was too low to grab the bar. I also placed 40# DB's on each base for added safety. If you go to my profile, I have pics of my workout room and some of the stands & bench set up for bench press.

Good luck with M2....hope your shoulder stays healthy!!

I took my last recovery week and after much debate started FitnessFreak's beg/int/adv 12 week rotation. I'm using her generic breakdown, and have added Pilates + yoga on one of the rest days.

I discovered that I am more consistant when following someone else's program/rotation than making up my own or doing what I feel like that day.

I'm planning another STS rotation for the winter.
