Advanced Exercisers: High Step Circuit - Yes or No?

Okay - I didn't pre-order and I'm still riding the fence. I KNOW I'm going to order High Step Training, but still am not sure about the other two. (Reviews on this one sound awesome)

The High-Step Circuit says Beg/Int - Is it really that easy?

Basic Step and Body Fusion - Too repetitive, really only for beg/int?

I LOVE Cathes workouts and just got P90X in the mail. If I'm working out I want to be pushed. Really unsure if I should get the last two?

Edited to say I just say Wendy's post below! Thanks Wendy

Hi, I did the advanced training on Saturday and it was great..I posted a review somewhere here and I did the intermediate high step circuit yesterday..it can easily be modified to increase intensity. here is the review I posted yesterday.

Well I did the highstep circuit today after doing the advanced highstep yesterday and I really like this workout. It can be easily modifed to increase the intensity as I thought when I previewed the workout.I increased the height of the step for the last two cardio intervals and will likely vary between 6 inches and 8 inches the next time i do this workout. The step can be also increased for the leg work. Let me tell you, I thought I had very strong legs but the lunge kick combo made me wonder. You can also increase the dumbell weights. The use of resistance tubing after dumbell work is absolutely brilliant...it works your muscles very differently than dumbells... does anyone know why this is. My are muscles were shaking trying to get to the peak extension and my triceps are killing me. Can't wait to try body fusion and the addons but it will be KPC first and then some Slow and Heavy work over the next 2 days.

I also posted a review of HSC yesterday. It is in the all caps thread titled "Calling all new DVD buyers".

I would go for it.

I also just did Body Fusion, and although I would only count it as a cardio workout (the weight work, even when you heavy up, is too brief in my opinion to effect muscle strength or even endurance) I really enjoyed it. It is a great intermediate workout, Cathe seems very relaxed and engaging, and I was really sweating. The slower tempo felt so good on my knees!

I have no doubt that these are all great dvd's. I would only be interseted in ordering the advanced one probably in the Fall. However, my dilemma is whether or not I would be getting a bootcamp workout that has some of the same moves as Imax's and BC as well as some of her other routines. I have enough plyometric jumps and circuit type workouts. I want something fresh. What would be different? And, is this similar to her other stuff? Please give me honest opinion. I don't need a sales pitch. Thanks! :)

Thanks Cathy and Wendy. It looks like I'll be ording HST and HSC. I hate repetition so I think I'll let BS & BF pass me by for now. I think its great Cathe has made something to introduce more newbies to her. This will be the first Cathe VHS/DVD I haven't gotten since about 1992.

I don't think you really will get many benefits from the High Step Circuit. You should read the thread requesting responses to the new DVD's for more opinions. I found this one hopelessly easy and unchallenging in terms of the cardio segments.
