Hello. I have had three c-sections. My youngest is almost five. I have major skin (it waves in the wind). How do reduce that and tighten it?

Thanks.

Hi, not Cathe, here, but I had 2 c sections, The first was emergency so they did the vertical, then they just went back in the same cut for the second. I had 2 pouches on either side of the incision, the skin bunched, after the first. It was gross. With the second, the doctor cleaned up the scar somewhat, but i found that doing lots of crunches really helped, and eating clean. I still have slight bunch of skin on either side, but I also have a miracle child that never would have been if not for the emergency C section! I will never have the beautiful abs of Cathe, but with clothes on, my stomach does look flat! Oh well,:p

ps. with clothes on;-) ;-)

Hi, not Cathe either, but I have had 4 c-sections, my youngest is 16 months old. Believe me, I know what you mean about "major skin". I find eating healthy and running helps a lot. Your abs may never be completely flat, but there is hope for reducing the extra skin. Good luck!

I also have had 3 csections. my baby is almost 17. my scar is horizontal .yes I still have skin or the pouch. holding the core muscle tight while you do everything really helps .also pushups seemed to get in there good for me or planks as apposed to crunches or anystability ball work for abs the raising each leg seperately while you hold the ball with your shins or thighs as Cathe does in her abs witht he ball. the skin will also be there unless you have atummy tuck but as all of us moms would agree the children are worth it most days just kidding

I have had three c-sections in 4yrs. It took awhile especially my belly button. My kids stretched the heck out of it. That bothered me more than the pouch. I still have a little pouch but the tone in my abs has gotten soooo much better.By the way mmy baby is 4yrs now. I think planks helped me the most. I also did leg pulleys or bicycle ex, which ever you want to call them. Also leg walks. I did these with the firm and had seen great improvement although I think I will never have a flat flat stomach. but I must say for having three kids in four yrs by csection, they look darn good ,plus i am 36yrs old and my beautiful babies where certainly worth it! just keep at it.

you lay on you back with leg straight up toward the ceiling and you lower one leg down towards the floor and bring it back up and then the other leg.make sure abs are contracted, this really works the entire ab area, esp;ecially the lower. I dont know what the name of this exercise is so I call them leg walks. but the firm 5 day abs have these exercises in their video.

Hi....

I didn't have a C-section, but when I was 15 I had emergency surgery and was cut down the middle of my lower abdominal area. Since then, I haven't been able to get a good, flat stomach...always a little "puffy". I have tried so many ab work-outs, but I am determined not to give up!!!

But if any can up up with some isolation exercises that truly work that area, I would be so very greatful!

Hello,
I rarely post as most of the ladies here are far more qualified than I. However here is a topic that I can speak of. The only way to reduce excess lose skin is through a cosmetic procedure, either a mini or full tummy tuck. I am NOT attempting to promote cosmetic surgery here, just stating facts explained by two different obgyn's and numerous surgeons I consulted with. We see that some women bear children and the skin remains tight and flat. These lucky few are blessed with great skin elasticity. Others like myself are not so lucky. I am petite and my first child was 9 lbs delivered by c-section, my other two came a few weeks early and were almost 9 lbs and I was left with an unattractive apron of skin that no control top/compression garment could eradicate. With each subsequent pregnancy my abdominal wall seperated further. No matter how many ab exercises I did, my abs were not tight. I eventually had a tummy tuck to address the excess skin and I saw the pictures of a 3" abdominal wall seperation taken by the surgeon during the procedure. The surgeon brouth the walls together and stitched them with sutures he said would remain long after I was dead! Because of this seperation my insurance paid for my TT :) In a nutshell all the ab exercises or clean eating will not address excess lose skin. Good luck.
