After nine wonderful years, I had to say goodbye to my precious boxer girl Mercedes today. We helped her to the bridge at 11:40 this morning.
She had been sick all week and I had hoped she would rebound like she did at Thanksgiving. Sadly, yesterday I found her laying in a pool of her own vomit. My poor baby couldn't eat, drink, or lift head to vomit. We spent Christmas day with her, but this morning we knew it was time to let her go. Filled with so much sorrow, I held her in my arms as she took her last breath. Mercedes left this world surrounded by the love of her family.
