A New Way to Use Pyramid Upper Body

Hey everyone!

Just thought I'd pass this by as a suggestion: Sometimes I substitute the stability ball instead of using the bench. It changes the focus of the entire exercise, not to mention firing the abs as well as glutes!:)

I use this every so often to shake things up.;-)
 
Heidi~DH & I do the same thing at times. It's nice to add a lil' core work into the mix. Thanks for the reminder.

Hi Clare,

In place of the step bench utilized during chest and portions of the back segment, substitute the stability ball (i.e. doing flys while on the stability ball. And pullovers on the stability ball instead of the bench.)

Hi Clare! I think Heidi means she sits on the ball instead of her bench for upper body work. Heidi correct me if I am wrong. Something else I did yesterday: Instead of lying on the ball for side legs lifts, (PLB) I positioned myself on my step bench and found it to be quite challenging. (a bit more balance involved) I decided to try this because I cannot put ANY pressure on my kneecap at this point, which lying sideways on the ball does. Does this make sense??? Just thought I'd share. I also added some glute sweeps, but just remained on the step. I did not higher & lower my core area like Cathe does in L&G's. (Again, another knee issue for me.)

Hey Debbie,

I don't sit on the ball I lie on it, so you need to stabilize with your core, legs etc. Almost like a tabletop position just like Cathe does I think it's SS or PP if I'm not mistaken
 
Thanks Heidi. I get confused which exercsise are on WHICH tape. DH & I also use the ball for flyes, pullovers and such too. We also substitue the ball many times for other tapes where Cathe sits on the bench. Thanks for Clare-ifying for Clare! ;-)

thank you both for clarifying, now I see what you mean, and yes, this is similar to what Cathe does in the Push/Pull an Supersets DVD, so now I have a visual for it aswell.

I was being dopey, forgive me, I just couldn't picture it, isn't it weird how sometimes you can't get something because you can't make a visual image? Maybe it's just me!!!

Nope Clare, no need to apologize. I am a very visual person too. I need to see it with me eyes to understand! Thank goodness Cathe's tapes are not cassettes, eh?
