72-year-old bodybuilder still going strong

I'm always intrigued by stories I find regarding fit elders, and this guy is no exception. The following is a video clip of 72-year-old bodybuilder Jim Morris. He says after all his years of training he takes no meds, has no pains, and joints are in good shape. His philosophy is "train to stimulate the body to grow, not beat it into submission."

Amazing!!! I LOVE his line: "People say you look so good for your age. I don't think so. I think this is the way 70 should look," said Jim.

This guy is an inspiration. I would love it if he were able to be more in the public eye so people could see the wonderful effects of lifelong exercise.

Very, very cool! Age is not an excuse! He's a real example for so-called seniors everywhere, myself included who is not quite there, but heading there very fast!

That is very cool, not to mention inspiring! I'm a few months shy of 40 & lately I've been putting some thought into my future routine when I can't lift heavy anymore. Maybe this means I won't have to change! :)

All I can say is watch out Lalane...my role model is an 85 year old woman who body builds. I found her article on Firm yaya's. And CNN had a grandmother who could bench press in the 100's and do one arm push ups. Meanwhile back in Irmo, I am good to finish one push much less bench press. :D Annette

I agree completely.
And obviously, it's a philosophy that works!

(And he's a vegetarian! Maybe vegan?)

I think Cathe should invite this guy to her next roadtrip. He would be a great guest speaker!:)

Yes, he says he is vegan now (don't know for how long). He eats nuts, fruits, beans, and vegetables.
