60 Day No Sugar/Fast Food -ose -Monday

Happy Monday everyone!!! I hope everyone had a great weekend. We had such good whether, it really raised everyones spirits.

I had a great weekend. No sugar or fast food, and no cravings:)

I am on day 14 and it's getting easier...

Have a great day everyone!!! I teach special ed in high school today so I won't be back until much later, but I can't wait to see how everyone's doing:)

Hi all!

Welcome to Monday ( ugh ) the start of the week!

Carrie: tell me what HSFC's are and how you remove them from your diet! I need to do something as although I am on day 11 with no sweets/fast food, I am not losing at all! I lost one pound the first week, and today I am back where I started! It gets a little frustrating watching everyone eating donuts, ice cream etc and I feel so good about not having any.. then the scale knocks you down! Oh well, get up and start over!

HFCS is High Fructose Corn Syrup, plus anything with -ose at the end of the word in the ingredients list on food packages.

Rule of thumb, is that if it's in any of the 1st 5 ingredients of any package, this also includes corn starch, don't buy it, because since it's a man-made chemical, it's incredibly hard to digest and stays with you in the form of the dreaded "F" word, "FAT".

I was watching a Discovery Health show one night, and the doctors on there intruduced their book, "You on a Diet". They explain it better in their book. It probably saved my life:)

I am going to scour all the things I eat that are packaged ( not fresh food etc) to make sure there are no "oses" or corn starch in the first 5 ingredients. I had the book "you on a diet" from the library, but did not get to look at all of it before it was due.. it is a hot commodity because they don;t let you renew it.

Hey girls!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!! I'm still on points and doing well. No sweets yesterday for this gal, lol.

I also try to steer clear of HFCS and I find that it's not that hard to do if you're eating clean. You would be surprised how many foods have that in it like dressings, syrups, etc. I only use 100% maple syrup now, make my own dressing, etc.

I joined the Weight Watcher thread today too. Oh my!!!!! I gotta cut this stuff out. I don't think my boss would be too happy with the amount of time I spend on these boards, lol!!!!!!! Now I'm checkin' into three.

Okay, have a non-sweet day!!!!:p
