6" or 8" for Step Blast?

Just got Step Blast in today. I have Rhythmic Step and do it on an 8" step. The only other Cathe that I dare do on 8" is Low Max. So, my question is, since it's my first time which one does the educated crowd suggest? TIA

RE: 6

I use an 8" step, but then again, I use an 8" step for most workouts. I'm tall though, so it's not such a long way up for me;)

I would suggest starting out with a 6" and moving up once you feel comfortable.

RE: 6

I am short and not proficient on a 6" step yet so I learned SB on just the platform (4") and don't think I have even attempted it on a 6" step yet and I get an awesome work out from it! I have done some work outs or parts of work outs on a 6" step but I find it can be a lot more work for very little pay back. I compared the cal burn and only saw a difference of about 50 cals for whatever work out it was that I had done both ways. That was disappointing and keeps me from feeling any serious need to bump up to 6" permanently. I just use 6" for a change of pace/challenge. I will admit that it DOES make me feel good to know I can do it atleast. I don't think I'll never use 8" though...

RE: 6

Thanks guys! I actually gave it some thought and decided to do it on 6" the first time. I watched the workout before I did it and with all the turns, etc. I thought it would be safer. I am 5'2", so my ability to trip over the step tends to be a lot greater.

That being said...I LOVED IT and am soooo glad I ordered it. Next time I will be doing it on 8".

Thanks to everyone who relpied. Interesting...my poll ended in a tie :7

RE: 6

Ooops, I voted before reading your reply. I use a 6" step, so your poll isn't a tie anymore.

RE: 6

For some reason, when I try 8" step, I feel like daddy long legs with extra legs. I seem to stumble around with my extra legs. I have tried it with some of the CTX. Melissa
