6 month vs 3.5 month STS rotation?

Can someone explain the difference between the 6 month vs 3.5 month rotation...do you do the meso 1 twice then meso 2 twice..or is it meso 1 then meso2 meso 3 then back to meso1 to make up the 6 month rotation.

Also, if your unable to do all pushups...and you modify...should you go on to next week, if you have to modify some of the excercises in the disc you are doing.

Thanks for any input in advance

Hi Samantha, :)

The 6 month rotation involves doing each week twice in a row.

For example, when starting out, you would do Meso #1, Discs 1, 2, and 3 for two weeks. Then you'd move on to Discs 4, 5, and 6, and do those for two weeks. Continue in that fashion for the rest of the discs.

I modify all my push ups (unless the workout only calls for 10 or 15 of them...those I can do on my toes). Believe me, you will see improvement, even if with a modification. Before STS, I couldn't do one decent push up on my toes.

Yes, you can move on. If I had to wait until I could do all of Meso 1's push ups on my toes, it would take me forever to get to Meso 2! I'm hoping someday I'll be able to work through STS without modifying any push ups, but we'll see. I think that's down the road a bit.

Thanks Lori, for clearing that up for me. I am just getting ready to start, have done my 1 rep max tests and next week I am launching meso 1 disc 1 WOOHOO! I know I will be modifiying , so maybe someday, I to will be able to do without, but that is a ways down the road,

Thanks Again :)

I think you're really going to enjoy STS. Be sure and take advantage of the Workout Card ~ print one out for every Disc and keep track of the weights you use. If, like me, you find that at times you can't use the weight the Workout Card has listed for you, record what you did use and then go back online and adjust the numbers. The WM will then recalculate your 1RM based on the weight that was good for you.

Keeping good records really helps you move up in weight safely and effectively.

Thanks for the great suggestion...I saw the work out card when I was tooling around the workout manager...makes sense and I just love the work out manager tool. At first I felt to Old to be starting this..41 this year, but then I thought, my body needs this! never too late, I hope ;)

Thanks for the great tips

We're never too old for exercise. I'm 39, and I'm in way better shape than I was in my 20s. The only difference ~ I have to be a little more careful with my joints. ;)

I had to laugh when I read about being "too old." I'll be 40 in July. At first I thought I didn't want STS because I wasn't sure I wanted to work as hard as it sounded like STS was going to be. Then after reading all the great reviews, I had to have it. I'm doing the 6-month rotation (SOOOO glad I did) and am so in love with these workouts, I can't believe it!
Have fun! I'm currently on my second-to-last week of Meso 1 and this is the longest I've stuck with any rotation. It's a fantastic!
