***6 Month STS alumni*** Week of Feb 27***

I'm going back to work tomorrow! I actually quite excited about it, it's been almost 6 weeks! I've enjoyed my week off but I really think I need to get onto a routine of some sort. I'm getting really lazy! I've actually got into doing lots of crafts, something I used to do but don't much anymore. DD and I finished her quilt which she is very proud of! Now I've been doing a cross stitch that I started years ago and didn't finish, it's part of a pair, and the other one is completed. I decided they would look good in the house and it gave me motivation to get it down. So I have been sitting in front of the fire, and sewing/cross-stitching alot. It's been so cold, and the house is pretty organized so it's nice just to relax.

It was very cold at the field trip! We spent the morning, at a fur-trading fort, where they were showing how it was like living back then, mid 1800's? All I can say, is I'm glad that I was born in these times. They really just spent all day trying to stay warm and fed. Even inside the little wooden buildings with fires going, it was cold!! When toes and fingers freeze it's not that painful but when then thaw it's very painful!!! I think we all had some frostbite on our cheeks. In the afternoon, we were inside for some of it, learning dances from that time, kind of like square dancing. The boys weren't too impressed (10 years old). Of course, the whole day was done in French and I don't speak French, but dd tried to translate for me. I was tired when we got home.

DS got home about 8:30 Friday night, he didn't phone because he "never got around to it". He definitely heard about that!!!!:mad: He still has a bad cold but asthma is controllable. He also seems to have some frostbite on his face. He had a great time, he loves downhill skiing.

Today, the whole family is going cross-country skiing! We've only been once this year. It's actually warmed up a bit, instead of million degrees below zero it's going to be -8. So will get out and do a family activity. Then this afternoon while ds is curling, DH and I are going shopping for my birthday present!! (My birthday is in a couple of weeks) I decided I will try an electronic reader but after lots of research I don't think I'll go with the kindle. The kindle isn't compatible with the library and doesn't have much selection outside the USA. It sures gets the best reviews but I want to be able to use our local library. I think we're going to look at the Sony e-reader, anyone know anything about these ones?

My post was getting kind of long so decided to break it up.

Cendrine The day at the zoo sounds like fun! Such a nice way to do some learning! I hope you can talk DH into some camping! What do you camp in, a tent? I need to make some camping reservations for this summer. I don't think I'll make as many as last year, as we will have lots of landscaping to do around the new house this year.
The porch is sounding nice, you have a hammock, and a bistro set? How about a picture;) Are you on a recovery week now? What's your plan with Meso 2??
You should check on the firewalkers as I got some with no trouble not to long ago. My family was calling them headbands and wearing them on their heads:confused::rolleyes: just to bug me when I first got them.

Jo Isn't it great to have a lovely, clean house. I've had so much time off lately, and so excited about the new house that I've been keeping mine so super clean even vacuuming each day!
I love SJP, it's one of my favourite workouts! Love the picture of Ibo, you can just see the energy, LOL! So you're starting your new classes today, after these ones are you off for the summer??? When are you meeting your new weight loss client? How neat, that you're known for your knowledge about weight loss!

Rachael I don't blame you for some napping!! Between this workout schedule and your physical job you must be exhausted!! WTG on the double Saturday!!! I'm looking forward to the March rotation to get back on a workout routine!

I didn't sign up for the Cathe/Disney roadtrip (registration started Friday) but I have been busy this week planning our next Disney trip!!! We're most likely going the first week of Jan 2012 with both my sisters, BIL's and neice and nephews. We're each married with 2 kids so it will be a total of 12 people. The cousins are so excited to go together. It's a long ways away but with so many people we need to start early as all the adults need to arrange time off work, etc.

Good Morning!

Kim, you sound relaxed! :D It'll be good to get back to your routine! I was cold reading about your adventure with the kids. Oh and I bet you were mad at DS for "not getting around to it!" I guess he is trying to show a little independence huh? I hope you guys have fun today. You know cross-stitching is one thing I've never done. I used to crochet (alot) and knit, also used to sew a ton. But I've never cross-stitched. I have that on my list of another thing to do one of these days. Oh and I think now it doesn't matter what reader you get, they are all good. I do love my Kindle but it would be nice if I could get something from the library on it. Right now the books I use for school are all electronic and I have to use the school ereader that works on my computer; for this ereader though I can print specific pages out of it. But I always have to read on my computer. But I have to say, it's a nice reader because for these books there's lots of diagrams, charts, etc. which wouldn't work well on a Kindle size reader. I love my Kindle though! I think whatever you get you'll love!

Well, I really slept late this morning. I must have worn myself out yesterday! ;) I think we stayed up too late again. The snow is melting as it's warmed up to 36 (yeah). My GF that was coming today for the setup DH and I were doing canceled as she had to take her 3 year old to the hospital yesterday. He has pnemonia. :( So the guy will still be coming as he needs to spend the night with us (he live's up by the Canadian border). He and DH have an 8:00 meeting in the morning.

Okay, I'm going to go do high reps! Hope you're all having a good day!

Well for a day I totally planned to do nothing at all I sure have filled every minute so far. LOL I got up at 6:30 and after breakfast have been going ever since. The nice thing though is that it is all stuff I wanted to do and not had to do...except laundry of course:p

DH is working on his desk and I have been making granola, a soup for the freezer, and just little odds and ends like organizing my bathroom closets a bit...I think it might be that it is 80 degrees and very breezy today so there is just some weird energy in the air.

Kim-I think you really needed some down time so don't feel bad about being a little lazy.;) Just think how long you have been dealing with one thing or another...i.e. getting the house ready to sale and then the whole process, then the kids changing schools and JD. You have been on the go for probably a whole yr so I don't think one week is going to hurt you. :D I bet your co-workers are going to be glad to have you back!
I was telling DH about your field trip and he was surprised as I was that anyone does anything in those sort of temperatures...lol, I guess yall just about have to or yall would be stuck at home most of the winter!
I agree with Jo. I think all the ereaders are probably great now and it will be nice for you to find one that is compatible with your library. I know you are going to love it. It has totally changed my reading experience. No more heavy books.;);):p:cool:

Jo-I hope your GF's son is OK. That is so young to be that sick.:(
I hope DH's friend is not too disappointed. Maybe they will get another chance soon.
Oh I know I said I love the photo of Ibo but I also wanted to say I love him in the tall grass. What a great photo opportunity that was.:D
I hope your classes are getting off to a great start.
Are you sore from High Reps?

Cendrine-The zoo sounded like it went great and what good luck with the weather. I bet you were super proud when dd picked books. Not to mention how smart to check the prices of the books! Isn't technology grand sometimes? LOL;)

I think I am caught up with everything for the day so it looks like I might get to spend the afternoon with my book:cool: Have a great day!!!

Kim, I never had any frostbite when out in the snow in switzerland, but my fingers still felt like burning hot water was running over them when I was washing them under cold water after coming inside... I'm very impressed with you all going on that fieldtrip. If it wasn't for the cold, I would have loved to be there too! It's amazing to hear how people lived not so long ago, isn't it? When I think of their conditions I can't help but think of myself as a spoiled weakling....;) Boy, if we ever loose our modern conveniences, we have some serious roughing up to do, won't we? Let's hope that won't happen!
'not getting around to calling' would get my ds to hear about it too! I'm glad he's fine though! And I am so excited that your dd already finished her quilt! I used to do lots of crafts as well, my mom taught me how to knit and sew when I was in first grade and I pretty much kept on making stuff until I got out of college, but now I kind of am a bit lazy and would rather watch a movie... Not as rewarding, that's for sure!
I will post a picture of the porch when I get around to taking one, it's really starting to look nice. I found some pretty flowers that might actually survive in our clay soil, so am contemplating buying them to finish the look of the front porch/garden.
Since I just had a recovery week a week ago, I am just moving right on to Meso 2. But I think I will only do it one time around not, twice, since I'm going easy on the weights. Still a good workout even if I don't up the weights as prescribed.

Jo, I love a super clean house too! How nice that you had two adults helping with it all! I have my two little helpers, and they do a wonderful job, but it's still a kids job... And 3 grown ups can accomplish so much! Enjoy the spring feel in your house!
I will be spending a lot of time researching what places are worth visiting with kids between here and Seattle, and we are definitely planning on not being in a hurry to get up there. It is really exciting to be thinking about seeing so much beauty together. We will be in a tent for the most part, unless it's cold or we can't find a good place to camp...;) But that is part of what the kids really want, the camp experience. They already announced wanting to stargaze and hunt for animal tracks to make plaster castings out of...;)

Rachel, you've had a productive day! I can't believe it's so hot today for you! Our day was a cold one for my standards, though ds was just doing the flip flops and shorts thing...
Again, awesome job on your rotation! You are amazing!

Good Monday:D...I hope.
Not too much going on today. We are still waiting on the material to finish the welding on the job at the vets so we are just at the house today. I really was lazy all morning (after the workout of course;)) We had another bad storm come in last night since it was so hot here yesterday, when the cold front came in last night we got pelted. Now its a chilly 68 outside <--the eye rolling is for yall esp. Kim and Jo:p
So I got outside this afternoon and fertilized the lawn and raked a little but no major work going on. LOL

This mornings workout was 4DS LIS and then the 400 lunges:eek: I went brave and added weights to the lunges ...just 5 lbs in each hand but I sure felt that differently...

Cendrine-I have been after DH to get our tent out and see what it looks like. We have not used it in a few yrs. and it has been up in our building and I think the last time we camped it rained the whole time so I can't remember how well we cleaned it after that:eek:. I love the idea of making casts of the animal prints for the kids though. That is very creative! What do you do for dinners while you are out? When I was growing up we always kept it super simple but when we were older and started camping with friends, we started having an array of things. My Gf even made spaghetti one night. It was a really nice meal after riding four wheelers all day.

Jo and Kim , I hope yall are both having a great day at work!

Rachel, high fives for the lunges with weights! You are in such good shape now! That's a lot of lunges!
I don't know about the meals yet... will be getting ideas on the internet and any you guys want to share.... ;) smores is definitely on the menu, though! so are banana boats.

I did disk 13 today and felt really good. My back's feeling great today, wonder if that has anything to do with dh giving me a back massage last night? If that is the case, he's done for... LOL! He won't be getting any breaks any time soon... LOL!

I was prereading one of ds's 3rd grade books for the coming school year. It was a story about a boy and his dog participating in a dog sled race to win the money they needed to save hid grandpas farm. It was really exciting to read and then just as he's coming to the finish line, his dog dies, bam, just like that. It totally hit me straight in the face! I was so shocked and I couldn't help crying! How can I possibly let ds read such a sad story? I guess this is why I preread... never would have expected such a heart breaker! In 3rd grade!

Quick post for me as it's already bedtime.
I've been obsessively researching e-readers:rolleyes: I decided on the Sony Touch as the Sony Edition is not available in Canada. But every single store in the city and on-line are sold out!! We went to alot of stores yesterday and today before I realized that I should just call around:rolleyes: I got my name on a couple of wait lists.

The March rotation looks good so I think I'll start that tomorrow.

Good Day! March 1 - can you believe it??? My goodness!

Yesterday I was totally derailed with work and getting started on new classes. I had PT this morning, and yes will make it to spinning tonight and then TBL! Yippee! So I'll have more time to post later but just wanted to pop in! I also realized the other day that I've been posting to this check-in now for just over 2 years. Can you believe we've been friends that long??? I remember that Rachel came about a month after the rest of us and do you remember that Belinda originally started this? But then the four of us have continued to post together for 18 months now! We're sisters in fitness!!!

Just finished my salad so will be back later sistuhs!!!! You girls are the BEST!!!!;):D:p:)

I guess we can call today sts sistuh hood day... ;) I love that we have maintained our friendships! It's been super fun to know you guys!

Jo, I'm so glad you have time for spinning and TBL again!

Kim, I'm glad you mentioned the library compatibility... I would have never thought about that! Great point! Let me know how it works for you, because, gosh, if I can check out books like that and not have to pay, that is awesome!

I just took the kids to the library yesterday, they are listening to a book on tape right now while I take some downtime. They seem to be liking it (Shilo)

I did no equipment abs and a tm walk. Still feeling pretty good!

Good Afternoon!
I like it Cendrine...The STS Sistuh hood Day! I knew it had been a great while that we had been checking in but I didn't realize it had been that long. I guess time really does fly...esp with good company.;)
We had a super dirty day today. We started a little church building and we had to do glue removal which I am not a fan...I need a lip curl icon for that one. LOL DH ran this machine called a scrape away and I did the hand scraping and the sweeping...trying to keep the mess contained. Needless to say...I am pooped.:p First thing I did when I walked in the door was shower. I felt like I was covered in glue dust. Yuck!

Kim-Isn't it always the way. When you are wanting something everyone else wants in too I guess. That happened when DH was trying to find a Wii...He went to every store in town and everyone was sold out.
I am probably going to do the March rotation too...I love good upper body workouts so it will be nice to be doing a rotation like that. I feel weird saying it but I really liked this leg rotation though. I felt it really did me some good so hopefully I won't lose that endurance that I built up.

Cendrine-Even if it wasn't the back rub from dh you should say that it was.;):p LOL I am so glad your back it feeling good!
Now I can't remember the web sites name but I know I found a really neat camp food recipe site before...I am sure I just googled something like that. I know that isn't really that much help. I think though, that it had some really good kids food ideas.
That is terrible on the story ending with the dog dying. I mean was that really necessary? I never understood why the animals always had to die in the disney stories either...I mean geez already. LOL

Jo-So glad you are getting back to your spinning. I bet the instructor missed you.;)
I am so glad we all continued our check in even after we finished STS. I have really enjoyed it too. Even DH knows all about yall.;):D Whenever he sees me on this site ...which is about everyday, right...he always says "Did your people write ya?" I have shown him Your pics of Ibo and when yall went canoeing, Cendrines of Switzerland and of course all the snow at Kims and her new house. I think if I ever could not check in he would know to check in for me ...you know in case of emergency.;) Yall truly are my best fitness friends! Have a great SPIN tonight!!!

I am off to east some supper!
TTYT

Wow Yall must be really busy.
Just a quick in and out for me then!
Workout this morning was 4DS Bootcamp with the weights too. Worked all over ;)

We were all over town today finishing one job then at another to finish a little odds and ends and then back to the church. Hopefully we will be buttoned up by Friday night.

I am off to play with the pups
Have a great night.

Just a quick post from me, too.

I did disk 14, trisets! I remember them now! We'll see how my legs feel tomorrow. Somehow triset workouts seem to go by faster....

I did a lot of cleaning today after finishing school for the day with the kids. I'm tackling some of the silk plants I've got sitting on top of my kitchen cabinets. They need a really good dusting, leaf by leaf... takes a long time, but I'm done with four now and just need to do two more. Not today though...

Kim, I forgot to ask, how was the ski day for your family! I hope you all had a lot of fun!

Hi Jo and Rachel!

Good Morning...
Just a quickie before work.
Todays workout was supposed to be CCC and then straight into B&G...Well I knew I wouldn't have time for that so I thought :)rolleyes:) that I would do the short premix of CCC and then as much of B&G as possible...Well I didn't do too well. I was feeling really tired before I got started and then I just got more tired instead of energized. By the end of the CCC premix (CCC is the hardest workout for me for some reason) I was laying on the floor. Then I talked myself into giving B&G a try and stopped after the first set of one legged lunges. LOL I guess that was all the try I wanted to try. Oh well not gonna fret about it.
We have a pretty long day of work today so I am thinking it will be alright to cut today's workout short.;) Still though it is the last week and I wanted to go out with a bang!:D:p;)

OK better go cause for some reason lunch doesn't fix itself! :D TTYL

Good morning ladies! Okay I won't use any excuses about why I haven't worked out in the last couple of days, I just really got to find a new routine. I'm back to working 4 long days instead of 5 short ones when I was driving kids so not I have to drive during rush hour traffic and it's a longer commute. The kids' evening activities are farther away, etc. So I'm putting the March rotation in the workout manager for today and I WILL figure out my new daily routine.

Rachael I'm SUPER impressed with you this month! Reading your workouts make me feel so lazy!

Cendrine Good idea to preread ds's books! Have you found a different book for him? The kids enjoyed the ski day but the skiing this year really isn't that good. The weather has been too cold and lots of high winds, so the snow is hard with a crusty top, really hard to cross country ski on. But we got some exercise and the kids enjoyed it. I used to have some silk plants but I got rid of them when I moved, I never liked cleaning them!
Glad that your back is feeling better!

Jo 2 years!! I hadn't realized that! what did you think of TBL? I sure hope Arthur does well at home!

Rachel, I woldn,t worry about your workout today, first off ccc itself is a killer, second, b&g isn't exactly a walk in the park, thirdly, your job is a workout and lastly, you've been going hard all month... so there, don’t sweat it...LOL!

Kim, I don’t like skiing on hard snow either, but I'm glad the kids had fun! I hope you can figure out your new routine soon, it's nice when you have a routine to keep you on track!

Hi Jo!

Oh, and workout was tm and stability ball abs.

Hi Guys! GREAT spin tonight! I'm so glad to be getting a few more workouts in! I came home and knocked out a test (yes already!). So I'm already done with Week 1 for project mgmt class and just have to take test for TQM class tomorrow night. Saturday will be another FREE day for me with a CLEAN HOUSE! Oh yes, spin instructor (Peter) loves having me back! I somehow make a lot of noise in the class and he picks on me and a couple of other girls (who I've made friends with) quite a lot. It's tons of fun. Tonight 100 lb lost GF and I recruited another person (the guy I helped lose 100 and he's gained 40 back) to spin. He's committed to spinning with us on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It was super hard for him but tons of fun tonight!

Looks like we're all having a busy week! Kim, yes, can you believe 2 years!! Oh loved TBL! I think Arthur turned a corner don't you? I wonder how he's going to get that pouch off in his abdomen. That looks like a surgery waiting to happen! That must be so uncomfortable. Also I wouldn't worry about not working out. You've had so much to deal with, you just have to find your new routine.

Rachel, I, too, am super super super impressed with your commitment to that rotation and what you accomplished this last month! You must feel great! Uggghhh I can't image doing anything in CCC and then tackling B&G! Ooohhh mama! How big is your town - meaning population? I envision it as being really small from the way you talk. How are your puppies? Last night I got home a little early and went out a played catch with Ibo for about 30 minutes. I had two balls going to try and wear him out. He is a very high energy boy! I'll have to get pictures of him jumping and catching. He LOVES to catch!

Cendrine, don't you just love revisiting those trisets? Love them love them love them! How are your legs? I'll bet tomorrow is when they'll be killer - you know the 48 hour thing? You may have loosened them up on the TM though. Oh, it takes a lot of patience to do those silk plants doesn't it! That's a good project for when you want to do some deep thinking! LOL!

Okay, off to bed to read. My legs are feeling mucho happy from the spin! I'm feeling good about the workload this session - nothing can be like last session. I actually didn't stress or feel guilty about watching TBL when maybe I should have been doing homework!

Oh lululemon order came today but I haven't got to look at it yet... :p

I didn't know it was here until just before I started posting to you guys. Stay tuned for more info on that! ;):D:cool::p
