Hi everyone,

Hi Mariangeles...I know you'll be first on the thread. I had another late work night then came in & did some rebounding & decided to post as I may not have a chance tomorrow (well, today) as it will be a busy day. I have a SITUATION at home which is causing me big problems & stress, & tonight I have to look beautiful...well, presentable...to go out for dinner.

More than anyone wanted to know I'm sure! LOL

Yesterday...Wed. did L&G & am pleasantly sore in the quads right now. Today is my fave...PUB, and I will add some cardio. Step, I think.

Have a great Thursday everyone,
Ruth:) :)

Hi Ruth. First of all I wish to you a happy anniversary.26 years Hoow. Congratulations. Today is cardio of choice in my rotation. I am going to do RS and I am going to add something more. Have a great day everybody.

I have seen this message of kathy S and I think it is a great idea. We can be together in the same thread.

Ladies, would you please combine your January rotation check-in threads starting tomorrow? We've had a tiny little group vote and it's unanimous that we would like ONE check-in thread. Can you two IM each other or something to work this out? Many thanks!

RE: Ruthie!

Good Morning Everyone,

Ruth- Congrats!!! Take care of yourself and good luck with the stress in your life. Sending you hugs:)

This morning was PUB. My arms felt like jelly when I was drying my hair afterward. I think my blow dryer weighed 20 poundsx(.

Last night I did IMAX - can't imagine how terrible my tuck jumps were in interval 8. Glad I don't have a mirror in my workout room!
;-)

Enjoy your workouts,
Wendy

Ruth...Happy Anniversary!! I hate those stressful situations...:(...hope things clear up soon.

Sandra...yes those leg sweeps are killers! I couldn't even find a gun at our Walmart....need to go to a bigger city I think..;).

Jes...yes I have enjoyed the cropping ability with my digital camera pics..:)...wow! a massage...you lucky girl!! I am trying for one in 2 weeks, not sure right after the marathon I want that deep muscle massage on my legs...YEOW!!!

Annette...all of Imax!! Great job!

Wendy..I have never attempted L&G extreme...way to go!!!! I also don't think it matter what order the abs are in Cathe's ab marathon either. So you think I might be the reason DH's hair turned grey so quick....:)...I do believe you could have hit the nail on the head!!!...:)

I really liked the Hardcore Kickbox Circuits, quite fun! The 10 min ab section was good too, way different ab exercises. Today I am trying LL with a lighter weight than I normally use. PUB shoulders, triceps, and biceps, and a 5 mile run...have a great day ladies...:)...Carole

Hi

Today I'll be doing a gym workout (shoulders, biceps, & triceps) should take about an hour:)

Yesterday was LL; is it just me....or is that really a tough workout??? The 'low ends' and 'hover squats' just kill me!! The stretching afterwards felt realllly nice!

Ruth....hope the nasty 'stress' stuff goes away soon! Enjoy your evening.

Great workouts girls!!!

Happy Anniversary Ruth!!! i am sorry to hear you are having stress on such an important occasion, but i hope that despite your "situation" you have a great time this evening and i am quite sure you will look stunning! (we need an icon that bats eyelashes and puckers up)

Carole, have a great run! i have figured out the editing program on my pc, so i will email the hefner pic!

Mariangles.......i have heard RS is great fun. enjoy yourself!

Wendy...(i think) i hear ya on the heavy hairdyrer! my toothbrush was a bit much for me last night and i had to lean against the wall!!! i am looking forward to the day when Cathe does not completely tucker me out...if there is such a thing

i was supposed to do Imax2 today w/ c/w abs, but tomorrow is the arrival of my leg killer dvd, so i am thinking i am gonna need my legs to be in working order. i may do one of my Salsa workouts instead. Arriba! great cardio without the impact

Morning all! It must be a PUB kind of day. I did PUB and then cardio from All Step. My arms are like jello as well. Went up in my weights for the bicep work and it almost killed me.:D

Ruth - Congrats on the anniversary! I hope that everything at home works out alright!:)

Hope everyone has a great day!

Katie

Good morning,

Katie, I could just copy and paste your email as my own! I did All-Step followed by PUB, and also increased my bicep work, and then couldn't raise my arms to get my cool-down shirt over my head. My daughter thought it was hilarious. The planks/pikes were exhausting because of the tired arms. Those are much easier when you haven't fried your upper body just before!

I used my new 2 1/2 lb platemates today, and did the 8 rep chest work with 22 1/2 lb dumbells, and the 8 rep bicep work with 17 1/2 dumbells. The chest work was just fine, but my form on the bicep work was slipping on the last 4 traditional curls, so I may have to reconsider how I do those. Maybe do the hammer curls with the platemates, and the traditional curls with just the 15lb dumbells.

This is rather confusing about melding the two check-ins. One if specifically for those doing the January rotation, and the other is for general check-ins of everyone who wants to chat about their daily workout. I do not, personally, want to see them combined. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Jes - sad to say that I did indeed step in it, and it was entirely my own fault. I procrastinated on cleaning it up, and was running short on time, so decided I would do it when I got back from grocery shopping. Of course, by time I got back, I had a very full bladder and had to make a mad dash for the bathroom. I'd completely forgotten about it by that time, and....splat! Right into it! It's my own fault, since I didn't clean it up when I should have. I've got another ucky story about cat puke that I'll happily relate some day when we're slow on conversation :) How was the massage? Enjoy your salsa workout!

Ruth - I was feeling LG this morning, too. All-Step was a perfect antidote. I hope your stressful situation doesn't impinge on your evening (nor that it is marriage related!). Happy anniversary!!!!

Wendy - you've really kicked your workouts up a notch this week! Good for you! I'll bet those tuck jumps were much better than they felt. A mirror would actually be a good thing because you would be motivated to keep good form. That's what I found when I did KPC and BC in front of the mirror in the hotel room (and also how I learned that I've been cheating all along on the sumo squats x( )

Carole - no luck at Walmart, with respect to the gloves (or guns), but I did notice that all of the male sports equipment aisles had tons of sports-themed drink coasters available. IMO, it just isn't a sport if a drink coaster is considered necessary equipment.

Lisa - nope, it isn't just you. I find LL to be a very tough leg workout. Effective beyond belief, though!! :)

Have a good day, everyone!
Sandra

ROFL Sandra...i guess dh didn't clean it up then huh? LOLOLOLOLOL!

Massage is not until 3pm so i could get my workout over with and stay relaxed. you can bet your ass i am not cooking tonight either!!!
and i agree about seperate checkins. i replied to Kathy s. post to alia and mari that "ours" was not specifically jan rotation. i think there was confusion over that. ????? i'm staying right here.

off to Salsa! (seriously this time)

Talking about not being able to lift your hair dryers/toothbrush reminded me of a funny E-mail I received some time ago. I will post it below! Ruth~HAPPY 26th.!!!! Whoo-Hooo! Hope you are able to enjoy your special evening. You'll look fabulous! Here's to 26 MORE!

It's entitled "A Week At the Gym":

"A week at the gym... If you read this without laughing out loud, there is something seriously wrong with you. This is dedicated to every woman who ever attempted to get into a regular workout routine.

Dear Diary...

To assist me in keeping my new year's resolution, my husband (the dear) purchased a week of personal training at the local health club for me. Although I am still in great shape since playing on my high school softball team, I decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and give it a try.

I called the club and made my reservations with a personal trainer named Bruce, who identified himself as a 26 year old aerobics instructor and model for athletic clothing and swim wear. My husband seemed pleased with my enthusiasm to get started. The club encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my progress.

Monday: Started my day at 6:00 am. Tough to get out of bed, but found it was well worth it when I arrived at the health club to find Bruce waiting for me. He is something of a Greek god - with blond hair, dancing eyes and a dazzling white smile. Woo Hoo!! Bruce gave me a tour and showed me the weight machines. He took my pulse after five minutes on the treadmill. He was alarmed that my pulse was so fast, but I attribute it to standing next to him in his Lycra aerobic outfit. I enjoyed watching the skillful way in which he conducted his aerobics class after my workout today. Very inspiring. Bruce was encouraging as I did my sit-ups, although my gut was already aching from holding it in the entire time he was around. This is going to be a FANTASTIC week!!

Tuesday: I drank a whole pot of coffee, but I finally made it out the door. Bruce made me lie on my back and push a heavy iron bar into the air - then he put weights on it! My legs were a little wobbly on the treadmill, but I made the full mile. Bruce's rewarding smile made it all worthwhile. I feel GREAT!! It's a whole new life for me.

Wednesday: The only way I can brush my teeth is by laying on the toothbrush on the counter and moving my mouth back and forth over it. I believe I have a hernia in both pectorals. Driving was OK as long as I didn't try to steer or stop. I parked on top of a GEO in the club parking lot. Bruce was impatient with me, insisting that my screams bothered other club members. His voice is a little too perky for early in the morning and when he scolds, he gets this nasally whine that is VERY annoying. My chest hurt when I got on the treadmill, so Bruce put me on the stair monster. Why the heck would anyone invent a machine to simulate an activity rendered obsolete by elevators? Bruce told me it would help me get in shape and enjoy life.

Thursday: Bruce was waiting for me with his vampire-like teeth exposed as his thin, cruel lips were pulled back in a full snarl. I couldn't help being a half an hour late, it took me that long to tie my shoes. Bruce took me to work out with dumbbells. When he was not looking, I ran and hid in the men's room. He sent Lars to find me, then, as punishment, put me on the rowing machine - which I sank.

Friday: I hate that Bruce more than any human being has ever hated any other human being in the history of the world. Stupid, skinny, anemic little cheerleader. If there was a part of my body I could move without unbearable pain, I would beat him with it. Bruce wanted me to work on my triceps. I don't HAVE any triceps! And if you don't want dents in the floor, don't hand me the *&%#(#&**!!@*@ barbells or anything that weighs more than a sandwich. (Which I am sure you learned in the sadist school you attended and graduated magna cum laude from.) The treadmill flung me off and I landed on a health and nutrition teacher. Why couldn't it have been someone softer, like the drama coach or the choir director?

Saturday: Bruce left a message on my answering machine in his grating, shrill voice wondering why I did not show up today. Just hearing him made me want to smash the machine with my weekly planner. However, I lacked the strength to even use the TV remote. I ended up catching eleven straight hours of the Weather Channel.

Sunday: I'm having the Church van pick me up for services today so I can go and thank GOD that this week is over. I will also pray that next year my husband (the LOUSE) will choose a gift for me that is fun - like a root canal or a hysterectomy."

Hello everyone,

I will be doing SH Legs and an Ab workout today. I am trying to get the drapes done for my living room so I'm cutting my w/out's shorter. I WILL have them done tonight. :)

Sandra, I agree that combining the two threads is confusing, because I am not doing the January Rotation.

Jes, I wouldn't be cooking dinner after you massage either. I usually fall asleep after I have one. :)

Ruth, have a great time tonight. Happy Anniversary!

Chat you all later,
Laurie Mac

Sandra...that's good to know...didn't want to think I was being 'Wimpy'!!

I've been reading these threads and thought you guys were talking about buying 'real' guns at Wal-mart:eek: ! I was thinking what the heck?!?

anyway, carol, what I have done with kickbox videos is use ankle weights...instead of putting them on my wrists(which doesn't work) you just slip them on your hand and hold them in place with your fingers:) It might work for you until you find the gloves.

>Sandra...that's good to know...didn't want to think I was
>being 'Wimpy'!!

Not wimpy at all! How do you like the music in that workout, btw? I never really seem to notice it, except for that Scottish ditty during the leg presses, which amuses me a great deal. It makes me think of the techno-cowboy music at the start of Step Jam that Cathe says she thinks is kind of cute, despite what other people say!

>I've been reading these threads and thought you guys were
>talking about buying 'real' guns at Wal-mart:eek: ! I was
>thinking what the heck?!?

LOL! We are talking about real guns (aren't we Carole?). The standing stereotype in Canada is that American gun laws are so lax relative to ours that you can pick them up at Walmart along with the baby diapers. I've heard many Canadian comedians makes jokes about this, so I'm not sure to what extent that is an exaggeration, but I do know that Walmart carries guns in some parts of the US. I guess I was trying to add a bit of Canadian tongue-in-cheek humour to my post.

>anyway, carol, what I have done with kickbox videos is use

I think Carole already has the gloves; I'm the one who's looking, and I really appreciate your suggestion. Thanks! Wendybdh also emailed me some great websites who will sell them to me, so I'm sure I'll figure something out before KPC comes up in the rotation again.

Cheers,
Sandra

Sandy - Good for you on the chest work. I do 20# for my 8 reps and it just about kills me. I started with 20# for my bicep work and managed to get through the hammer curls, but only got through a couple traditional curls, so I went back down to my 15#.

Katie

Hi Ladies,

I will be running 6 miles tonight and hopefully begin my weight training by Monday. I can tell the difference when I run hills.
I have had company and could not set up my weights in the den, so
I have not done any for about 2 weeks. I know that I will have to start from scratch.

Josie

Music??? All I hear are my thighs screaming for mercy:p

Yep, my neice's husband is a police officer and works the street mostly narcotics. He says the prerequisite for obtaining a gun are to have not graduated from high school, have a criminal record and you're sure to qualify:p

I tell you...I'm getting more like my mother every day (LOL), Well then, you try the ankle weights if you don't get the gloves in time:+

Have a great day,

Ok, I did PLB up premix, but between schooling my youngest son who needs constant supervision when attempting school it took me 2 hours to do that 40 min. workout, sigh!!:+ After that cardio was out of the question, but school is done for that son, whew!!:p

Hope you all have a great day, and yes it had been awhile since I had IMAX 1 straight through without breaking it into 2 workouts so yesterday it was nice to do that whole thing straight through.:7

Hey....pouring sweat...just had a great Salsa workout. this is a workout where you are on you tiptoes alot and so it is a good workout on the calves(which you Sandra, suggested would help with my feet on the bloody hi/lo) so i remembered that this workout would be great for that. i haven't dodn my salsa wo's since the Cahte obsession started in Nov, but this one is alot of fun! only 30 mins and 350 cals.

Josie, good luck with the scratch. i have faith in you!!

jes :D
