50 and over week of Feb 20 check in

They told me the three days after also but then there is 3 weeks of "maintenance". Still no major carbs but eat more fruit and veg and protein. You eat as much as you want but weigh every day. After those three weeks you add back regular food and see what is the trigger or causes you to gain.

I would like to skip the 2nd three weeks and go back to nutrisystem since I have the food. Undecided but will see how much I lose. Still hungry so might only go the 21 days of low before stopping.

Day 1- 165
day 2- 170
day 3- 169.4
day 4- 165.4
day 5- 163.4
day 6- 162.4

Yea another pound.

B-tea
L-3oz chicken, 1/2 cucumber,apple and bread stick
D-3oz hamb., cooked spinach, orange and bread stick

I cheated again besides the tea I had another 10 calorie breadstick and a 25 calorie hot chocolate. The last was Beth's fault.;) I was hungry and that took edge off. I also thought I needed the calcium.

Back to work, have a good day.

I forgot to weigh this morning before coffee. When I got on the scale- I had gained a pound. Could that be the coffee? I went to spinning last night and I do feel bloated somehow. I think today I will do basic step or one of the easy ones.

How is everyone else?

We just had two beautiful days that included- yes- sunshine! But now, the fog and cold is coming back!

Had a good day yesterday -
Stats:
I burned 2954, I ate 1150
I got in 15518 steps.
Eating - Clean.

I think this GWF is high for calories burned. But, I am using it more as a guide.
Today was 1.5hours of walking outside. Nice!! :) Now, cleaning and laundry.

I think cutting calories from 1400 to 1200 is helping.

Yea Jann. Love the weight loss. I don't think you should stay on 1200 once you can work out. But who am I to talk when I'm eating less than 500, but I do plan on it being short term. I know losing slowly is the correct method I just couldn't stand this weight any longer. What worked for me when I was losing 1lb per week was eating 1200 most days and once or twice a week eating 1500-1700 up to 1900 calories. I averaged 1400 calories but it worked much better than eating 1400 calories every day. According to Tom Venuto from "Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle", if you eat at a deficit and then every fourth day eat at maintenance or a little above your body doesn't slow down and get used to those lower calories. Ignore above about staying on 1200, you have to find what works for you. I couldn't stay on 1200 but it worked great with a once or twice a week higher day.

Day 1-165
day 2-170
day 3-169.4
day 4-165.4
day 5-163.4
day 6-162.4
day 7-162

Only .4lb today, I wonder if that is the expected slow down. If I average that for the rest of the time it is 6.4lb plus 3lb lost or 9.4lb in 21 days or 23 days if you count the fat load. I really wanted 20lb so I may have to go up to the 40 day plan. I really don't want to because I am hungry.

I did cheat again-10 calorie breadstick, 25 calorie hot chocolate and an extra 3oz of chicken. I can keep from eating more because I want to see the loss the next day. I don't know what will happen if even the .4lb loss stops.

Cathy How is your new house coming along?

Hi to Magnolia.

Joan

Eventually, the hungar pains stop as you the fat that has been sitting around gets fed to the fire! That being said- I AM HUNGRY!

Instead of another breadstick- have an apple or a protein drink.
Only pilates today- I was down a pound this morning but yesterday not at all. I think I had too much salt the day before and it justlooked like I had not lost.

Cathy- did you move yet?
Hi Magnolia!

I was so hungry after lunch I ate a NS lunch bar. It has protein, but also carbs and fat. Total calories for the day were just over 600. I didn't eat protein at dinner because I wasn't hungry. I hoped this doesn't mess up tomorrow's weigh in.

Good morning,

Day 1-165
day 2-169.4
day 3-165.4
day 4-165.4
day 5-163.4
day 6-162.4
day 7-162
day 8-161.8

:(Now it's only .2lb a day.

I will try to up the water I drink. I didn't get as much in yesterday. I'm not nearly as hungry as I was. I hope that keeps up.

.2 is still a loss Joan -- Hang in there.

I did one of the easy firm cardio/sculpt workouts and 20 minutes on the treadmill. Tomorrow is a rest day -- yay!

Boy Jann- you are moving early!!!

Joan- if you are still losing you are doing good- you'll see another jump at some point if you stay with it. You are getting used to smaller portions, you aren't eating sugar, your body will shrink! Also, in the pounds and inches book they say to change out the protein source from meal to meal- are you doing that?

Out for a walk for me!:D

I'm only complaining a little. I will be happy if I get below 160.

I'm rotating chicken, tuna and hamb. I might have steak tonight. They did say women would go a few days with little loss and then have a bigger loss. I guess I just had in my mind that I would lose 20lb.

You will! Well maybe 15 or so. It was helpful t me to have the counseling available because they kept me fired up! I'll be your counselor! See your self in a bathing suit then drink more water! I still haven't walked!

I finished my lunch at about 2. I wasn't that hungry so I waited. So far I have had the breadstick, 1/2 cucumber and lean hamb. I will probably have an orange or strawberries at 3:30.

My wo room is empty and waiting for me. I probably could eek out 1/2 hour if I had ambition but hope the diet will work and then get my muscles.

Magnolia's last post was 2/17. Hope nothing's wrong.

I called the pounds and inches away bunch to ask if my weight loss shouldn't be a little faster. The one I got this time said I needed to add weight lost that I gained in first two days. I asked her if I gained 20lb and then lost it and was the same weight I was when I started if they would advertise a 20lb loss. You can pay extra to get a quaranteed 20lb loss but that's a ripoff. She was not much of a cheerleader. I'll take Beth, Jann, Magnolia and Cathy over them anyday.

Day 1-165
day 2-170
day 3-169.4
day 4-165.4
day 5-163.4
day 6-162.4
day 7-162
day 8-161.8
day 9-160.8

Yea down a pound. We went out to eat and I had grilled chicken and steamed mixed veg. Veg weren't correct but I ate them anyway. Zucchini, peppers, broccoli mix but I think there was butter on them because they tasted good.

Joan

I did drink a lot more water yesterday. That might have been some of the problem the day before.

Joan!! Hey that's almost 10 pounds in a week ---- not bad!

Friday stats:
Calories burn 2671 consumed 1201
Steps 12,379
Eat - Clean!

Today will be harder to stay on track. Telling myself it's ok. This is a life change not a diet! :)

Treadmill for 35 minutes this morning.

I was so hungry the first week but it seems to be manageable now. I reread the book I got with diet and women have to go the 40 days to get 20lb. (Men lose 30-40lb in that time) I was hoping to only do the 21 days of low calorie because you still have 3 more weeks with pretty much no carbs. Then it would be 40 days and then 3 weeks.

I hope I learn to love cucumbers. I have to put salt on them. It is allowed but it seems like I use a lot on the food I am eating. Usually I don't use much salt.

Jann You're as bad as they are. I'm down 4.2lb from my starting weight.

My mother is unable to walk more than a few steps. Of course this had to happen on the weekend. We can't decide if she should go to emergency room today or wait until Monday. I talked to EMT client and it doesn't seem to be an emergency. She's more likely to be treated on Monday. Of course we will have to call fire department to get her down the steps. Or at least up them.
