I wonder if it will take me the first 10 days to lose the weight the fat loading added? I don't think I ate enough yesterday because I'm already hungry.

Joan - I don't think it will take but a day or 2 to lose that 5 pounds.

I jumped on the treadmill this morning.
 
Joan- have you started? Get through the first few days and you will not be hungry-- if you are- eat those frozen berries when you feel the need- you may have overdone the fat loading-- they told me that if you eat too many carbs during that time you might have a rough time getting started. Just do not quiit-- and drinks lots of lemon water!

I am down another 1/2 pound this am-- download an ap on my ipad to keep better track of calories--- not so hungry at all, but I have been nibbling on the (semi) frozen berries. Im meeting a friend at Panera so my plan is to have that sald with the chicken and strawberries- no dressing and slowly eat only half.

Hows your diet Jann?

The only fruit I get is 1 of the following apple, orange,1/2 grapefruit or 10 strawberries for lunch and 1 of those for dinner. Only 2 fruit a day and 2 veg per day. The veg. are spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus and cabbage.

The protein is veal, lean beef, chicken breast, white fish, lobster, crab, shrimp, water packed tuna, and egg beaters.
 
Treadmill to day for 40 minutes.

I officially start today. I measured, weighed, took photos then had a good cry. :( My body is out of control. I just keep going up in weight and fat%. Even with the added walking and less calories. I go to the doctor next week. I hope she can help me figure this out. So much for thinking my thyroid out would help -- it's worse. :mad: I go for blood work this week.

Sounds like both Joan and Beth are doing good -- well, except for the hungry thing!! GO GO GO!!

Jann Are you on any thyroid medication yet? I thought that was what would make weight loss easier.

No, no meds yet. I have to wait a month. I go see her next Wednesday. She should start me on something then. Maybe then my body will start working again.

I stuck to my menu today? How did you guys do?
 
So far I have had 120 calories of eggbeaters, an apple and a melba toast. I'm starving but just now had time to put chicken on to cook. Need lunch veg also. I only had a few minutes all day and that's when I ate eggbeaters. No appts tonight so I might eat tuna or hamb and save chicken for tomorrow. Another busy day with lots of appt.
 
Did I post on the wrong week too? It is the ipad. I am still trying to figure it out.. But it is so cool!
I overate today by about 150 calories but I did do pilates then Trx class tonight. They say that the exercise cant be compensated for though.

Jann what about your vitamin d levels? The last doctor I went to was having mine tested and said that too can cause weight not to come off. Also, maybe try staying away from grain for a week or so and getting your carbs through. Vegetables. That usually kick starts it for some people.
I hope we are not boring magnolia and cathy with this weight loss chatter.... Come back!!!!

Beth I want an ipad!!! :cool::cool: Do you like it? What do you use it for? I like to read and I am hoping to use it for downloading books. I have books piled up to the ceiling and don't want to get rid of them. I think an Ipad would help with that problem(in the future anyway :p)

I am hoping most of my weight problem right now is I had 1/2 my thyroid removed and I am not on any meds yet. So my body is adjusting to that. Plus menopause, stress, and not being able to workout the way I am used to doing. I can only walk and do a little step. I can't lift anything over 20 pounds for another week. It's only been 3 weeks today since I had it removed. I called my doctor about seeing a nutritiousness next week so I am hoping I can get some help through her.

Yesterday was a good start.
I burned 2693, I ate 1255
I got in 13295 steps! -- love my treadmill! :)

What type of green tea do you like? I love almost all the jogi teas. I also like Good Earth, they make a great orange blend. YUM. Another store bought is Choice Organic tea makes a great Oolong. OH -- if you want a hit of chocolate try Mayan cocoa Spice! I could go on and on. :D

Was it Magnolia who told me about trying to blend my own tea? I still haven't found a tea store around me to try that out yet. I love my tea!!:)

My vitamin d is normal. Had that checked.
I also had a DNA test done through inherit health last year. According to that I am suppose to eat more carbs than protein. The test suggested this for my DNA type - A good low-fat diet that has few calories(1200) as fat(20%) more carbs (65%) and small amount of protein(15%)
I am trying this again. I lost 5 pounds in November. Unfortunately I put it back on in Dec/Jan.
 
Jann I can lose with just walking but it has to be a lot. I think weights shape us better but this time I'm going to lose the weight and then lift. Since I don't have time to lift anyway.

Down 1.6lb, but a 2lb loss since yesterday. I hope it keeps up. The Pounds and Inches Away people said after the 4th or 5th day of dieting the daily loss of weight begins to decrease to one pound or less per day.

I seem to be addicted to Bigelow's Constant Comment Green tea flavored with rind of oranges and sweet spice. I used to only drink black teas but now can't stand them. My nephew's former girlfriend worked at Teavana (I think that's the name) in Chicago and my brother was always giving me tea. I can drink other teas and have tried mango, key lime, raspberry, blueberry, jasmine,etc. but I love my orange best.

Today at least the chicken is already cooked. So chicken for one protein and hamb for the other. I'm not sure the eggbeaters were as filling as tuna. They had said 1 egg and 3 eggwhites but two of the small containers of egg beaters is only 120 calories.

I seem to be as hungry as if I were on any diet but at least it is a legitimate hunger.

Joan- Did you say hamburger or ham? I cant have either one!
Congrats of the weight loss!

Jann - I just got the ipad but I am going crazy with it-- email- stocks, movies that I can either workout to directly because it is big enough- or plug into tv for bigger picture- it is very different from my laptop but so easy to carry around!! Love it!

My workout today was basic step, 100 swings w/5 pound bell, 30 minutes on the treadmill. Making up for tomorrow because I won't get to workout. :)

Gotta watch eating this afternoon. Already had to much this morning! :eek:

Beth what was that spray you said you use for vegetables?

I can have lean hamburger. Mine is 93% lean. Actually I could have bought the steak or hamb from them. Mine is cheaper. No pork or salmon. The ham I understand. I guess salmon has more fat than some fish? I am less than 500 calories every day so far. Unless I stop losing I will drink my tea.

I'm not crazy about soy sauce and like the taste of all the meats I have. I don't care if it is boring as long as I'm not too hungry. AND I LOSE WEIGHT!

I really hope it is easy to keep the lost pounds off. The sales person I bought program from weighed more than I did. She went on the program once. She said she planned to go on it again. I would suggest she start now.
 
You will keep it off if you follow it all the way to the end and for three days after. I have not gained one pound back.

I just discovered a quick and good meal. Sauté in chicken broth onion and yellow squash. And chicken cubes. Season with lemon pepper. Yum!

Went to spinning class. Just under 700 cal. The tea sounds good. I should probably ditch the hot cocoa.
