50 and over April check in

Hi, Y'All!

Joan, that's exactly where my weight seems to be hanging on!

Last week, I think my rotation was a little too much for me. I let myself do too many tough workouts without enough rest in between, so this week, I am taking it a little easier. I am alternating regular workouts with stretching. Yesterday, I did an old favorite, Lean, from FitPrime. Today I did a good session of Classical Stretch and may walk later on if there is a break in the action. I'll try it this week and see how I feel by the end of the week.

I hope you are all having a great week and enjoying spring weather! Joan, I hope you will have a great vacation!

Have a great day, everyone!

Hi all!!

I am on a Firm kick right now also Magnolia. I am going back to my roots. I started doing the BSS1 workouts this week. My legs are killing me!!!:eek:
I think it is from all those leg presses - :p

SAME here! Weight is my stomach and hips - :( Stuck!

OhMy...I can't believe it's been so long since I checked in. I really haven't been on line that much.
I sure would love to report lots of workouts done and many lbs. lost, but I'll have to settle with 'trying to keep working out and not gaining any weight'.
I did download a food journal app on my phone and have been quite enlightened on why I wasn't burnin' any butter! Plain ol'eating too much and just didn't realize it.

JoanC, I hope it is a great thing that tax season is over! :D And my heart goes out to you, also, for you and your son. Life can be so darn difficult.

Jann, beautiful garden!

iron mom, I enjoy my XBox and the dance program on it...when I get off my backside and do them. I enjoy Wii Zumba too.

Magnolia, I have been busy...but not with all that much fun. Mostly working and coping with being tired. It's finally pretty here in Pa. so I am looking forward to being more active outside.

Hi, Y'All!

Sorry to have been absent, I am taking another course towards my degree. How can this be only my second week and I am already behind in the reading??????????

I did Figure 30 Butt on Wednesday and today I did Reboot Vol. 1. Jann, I am with you on the Firms! I always loved those tall box climbs, I usually feel those right where it counts! Anyway, I am doing a mix of Anna Benson, Tracie Long and Cathe now. I like that kind of variety, even though I do love the old Firms so much!!

Kim, I was just reading an online article about fatigue, since I have been awfully tired myself lately. I found it interesting that they advised even just a 30-minute walk. I think anything you can manage to do will help you get a better quality of sleep at night, and that's got to help! I cut back to three days for now, and I am doing the same workouts for the most part. Just giving myself a little extra time in between to rest and maybe stretch.

Hi, Beth and Joan!

Have a great day, everyone!

Great minds and all that, Magnolia!! I didn't read the particular article, but have read many stating the same, and I have started this week coming straight home and taking my Scottie for a 30 min walk to see if I can get my self going.
I work in an office and if I didn't make sure to get up every 45-60 min and move, I could sit the whole shift! Gah!!

I actually go to the rest room and do squats and front kicks, stretches, etc. Luckily for me, we don't have a lot of women working in my building so I usually have the restroom all to myself ;)

HI all -- well, I had a mishap today. I was planting some day lilies turned tripped, twisted my ankle, fell on my knee, caught myself with my hand -- I am a mess!! Nothing is broken -- :D I can't put an weight on my ankle, my knee and wrist are bruised.:eek: So I'll be taking it easy for 2 days now.
Well, at least I got those plants in before the "big" rain this weekend.

I am so glad we are in this together!!

Kim - What is your Scottie's name? Do you have a picture? I enjoy my walks with my Reggie.

Hi, Y'All!

Been busy this weekend. Had some masses to sing for yesterday and today, and then 2 hours each day trying to get caught up on the reading assignment for my course.

Jann, Reggie is so cute! He's grown pretty quickly! Sorry to hear about your mishap. Take care, you'll be back at it soon.

Kim, good for you! I think it helps to do something. I am trying not to let a day go by that I don't do something active. Just some days a little less than others for now.

Have a great evening, Ladies!

Magnolia

It's snowing here -- :eek::eek::eek::confused::confused::confused: Crazy weather. :p

Plan to do some upper body weights today and stretching. Ankle is still pretty sore, swelling is down this morning -- yay!

Thanks Magnolia, Reggie is my best buddy. :) We got him a year ago this month. It's hard to believe how fast this past year went.

Good morning, Y'All!!

I just finished The Firm Volume 5, one of my very favorites! It is a killer, though, and I needed one today. I am looking into a new treatment for my arthritic shoulders. I have to be inventive, but it certainly would be nice to have full range of motion back in both shoulders and no pain! A good friend of mine had this treatment in his knees and says it works. It consists of injections into the joints. I know it sounds painful, but I don't think it could be as painful as what I have been experiencing for the past years! And at least it would only be painful for a short time instead of every day!

Have a great day, everyone!

Morning! -- Magnolia have you ever tried acupuncture? It has helped me so many times with aches, healing, just plain getting my body back on track from surgeries. And it doesn't hurt. ;)

Hi, Y'All!

Jann, I have not tried acupuncture, but will keep it in mind. Keeping all options open here.

I did Kick Back today. I am really getting hooked on Tracie Long workouts lately. I was way too tired yesterday, and I think trying to use my old level of weights for Volume 5 was a mistake. Besides, I need to go with shorter workouts these days because I am going to have to budget my time very carefully.

Speaking of time, lots to do today. Have a great evening, everyone

True story -- I have a friend that broke her back when she slipped on a side walk and fell. She has been in pain for 2 years. We live 2 hours from one another. She could never make the trip here to see me because she couldn't make the ride. If she had to be in the car for any length of time she would have to lay on the back seat. I begged her to have acupuncture. So we found a qualified gal in her area. WELL!!!!! She has improved so much she not only made the trip to my house -- she didn't have to stop!! She was amazed!! It really does work. :D

I got back late yesterday. I had a great time until Monday when I got dh's cold. I went back to the room after lunch and slept until 9pm. What a way to spend last full day of the trip. I didn't do much today. I still have a headache that won't go away and a cough.

I'm only up because I remembered I had work to do. I finished it and just wanted to check in to say hi.

Joan

Hi, Y'All!

Awfully sorry about the cold, Joan. Hope you are feeling much better by now.

Well, dh kept at me until I let him take me to the chiropractor on Friday. I do have a pinched neck, and I think I have known that all along. I have been in agony since about the middle of last week. I did get an adjustment and have an appointment for another one tomorrow.

That all being said, I surely hope you are all well. Do not use an orthopedic pillow ever, unless a doctor orders you to. This is what caused my problem.

Have a great evening, everyone!
