4DS weights seem easy. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi all,

I did the upper body premix from 4DS and even though I was working hard during the workout (sometimes I had problems finishing the last reps for some exercises), after the workout was over, I did not feel that I had a thorough workout as I do with GS or S&H. Am I doing something wrong? Should I increase the weights more, even if it means not doing the last 4-5 last reps? Or should I do the exercises for one body part all at once, the way it's done in S&H and GS?

Thanks
Nathalie

I can't really comment on the premix because I've never done it but I'm on week four of a 4 Day Split rotation and I'm loving it! I got them when they came out but didn't really use them until this rotation. I do the DVDs as they come not the premix and have made great strength gains. I feel really stong and empowered when I do them. Maybe its the mix of cardio first and then the weights I'm not sure. Maybe try to use them as the individual workouts that they are. I definitely feel worked out after doing them this way. If you are having trouble finishing all of the reps on some exercises maybe you're getting a better workout than you think:)

I think you could do it both ways....On the premix...Lift heavier but instead of "not doing" the last few reps have a liter weight load handy to finish the set out...Do it this way for a few weeks & then switch to 1-2 parts per day (the as produced versions)... That will challenge the muscles in a new way.

I say it is an indication that you need to go heavier, . . you tough girl you.

Are you already going as heavy as possible so you are tiring out in the given rep range? If so, I would repeat each set- Double up on the weight work. Do the cardio later in the day. I think alternating muscle groups gives your muscles a rest some you can come back stronger. But if you don't need the rest, keep going with the body part.

I don't think you should go so heavy that you can't complete all the reps, although that's another option.
