4DS premixe circuits

I'm not a fan of boot camp on the 4DS but want love doing circuits. There aren't any other circuits on the 4DS dvd, are there? I love BM2 circuits - now THAT boot camp is awesome.
Is it just me, or are the premixes lame on 4DS...please tell me I'm missing something!

I think you're definitely missing something.
There is a Low Impact circuit and a High Impact circuit on the other disk.
Check those out instead!

There is a 4DS Boot Camp upper body circuit and a 4DS Boot Camp lower body circuit workout. And I agree with the other poster - the 4DS LIS circuit premix and 4DS HIS circuit premix are both really fun workouts!!

I love 4DS!!

Everytime I read something negative about 4 day split my jaw drops. I guess everyone is different but I just LOVE it. I find myself coming back to this all the time. The kickbox is sooo much fun I never get bored of it. The low and high step I understand may be a little to choregoraphically harder but once you get it, . . it is a whole lot of fun. I love the varitey of this series. I would probably suggest Drill Max and Low Impact Circut if you really like the Circut interval style training both are fun, . . . and Drill Max is tough. I also like to split my workouts throughout the day so having a 30 minute option is nice for me.

I have to agree with Nikkithin, I thought the 4DS was real lame. I had heard so many good reviews and I was really disappointed. I was expecting something with more intensity like drill max. The bootcamp/kickbox were a joke. I barely broke a sweat and I did the double cardio.

Oh, one premix shows LIC, which I thought was a low intensity circuit workout, but it was a step routine instead. This was the first time I have been really disappointed in one of Cathe's DVD's

I agree that the Bootcamp in 4DS is not that great. I am glad that I got this series though because I love all of the weight work. I tend to do my own cardio, and then use the weight workouts.

My first impression of four day split was that it was just okay. I think that this workout has to grow on you. After using it several times and discovering the versatility of 4DS, it is now one of my favorites. You can do a 30 min or 60 min cardio workout. I enjoy doing HIS /LIS combined premix. I also like the circuits on 4DS.

If you like circuits and 4 DS is not for you, try the Bootcamp on the Boot camp and Muscle endurance DVD.

After doing the total body workout yesterday, I was impressed with the weight portion, but am still not happy with the cardio but I can do cardio from another DVD or run on my TM.

The bootcamp/kickbox were a joke. I barely broke a sweat and I did the double cardio.

Holy crap. Well, good for you, I guess. These two workouts kick my arse.

It does not say LIC--it says LIS--which stands for Lower Intensity Step. LIC is Low Impact Circuit from Cathe's 2006 series. There is a LIS circuit workout premix though--you might want to look again.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I thought this one of of Cathe's best series ever.

I love 4DS but didn't feel the bootcamp was hard enough. Nothing like the original one. Catherine suggested I do it twice and WOW that hurt. But it made me love it. Give it a try!!!! :D
elliemom

Good thing I was sitting down when I read you didn't like the 4DS cardio!!! :eek:  I think this is Cathe's funnest cardio ever!! I personally could do the KB/BC cardio once a week (for about 6 weeks I did!!) and still not be bored!! And it'd still kick my butt!!

Oh well... I agree with Allison:" Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I thought this one of of Cathe's best series ever. ":)

4DS grew on me. I didn't totally love it at first. I loved the new choreography in the step workouts and while they were fresh and a bit more complex than Cathe's usual step routines, I didn't find them as intense as her usual cardio. I really like the weight work too. I remember Cathe said something to the fact that she kept the cardio at a lower intensity b/c the goal was for us to have the energy to lift heavy. There are a lot of premixes but I don't think they were as well thought out as they could have been or there may be other factors that I, not being a insructor/producer, just aren't aware of. For example, I would have liked a shorter total body premix that maybe utilized a push pull method or at least mixed it up a bit lasting no more than 70 min. and better yet a total body premix in one hour.

4DS is a keeper for me at this point, though. Sometime I want to pair it up the 4DS weight work with CTX cardio.

4DS is just right for me at this point. I've been slacking off a lot and doing 30 minutes of cardio is just about enough. I think the step routines are a lot more complex choreographically than her other ones. I like that the whole workout is just 60 minutes.

I'm not a fan of kickbox so I'd say that's my least favorite of the set.

4DS is also just right for me for the time being. I've never really enjoyed heavy weights after cardio but I feel that I can split these up and they'll still be complete workouts. And I am coming back from a break after injuring my shoulder, so 30 minutes is perfect. But those 30 minutes are always tougher than I anticipate. Boot Camp will never be easy for me. There's just so many ways to use these and the premixes are more likeable for me than in some of Cathe's other series.

i actually have been doing the premixes on 4DS - but not the boot camp one! i have been doing HIS and LIS circuits and they've been pretty fun.

and i agree - full body on 4DS is a good w/o. but all in all, the dvd is not as hard as i would like it to be.

speaking of - i should start a new topic really - i am not a fan of boot camp but love the circuits...is Drill Max like the boot camp in 4DS?

Drill Max does remind me somewhat of Boot Camp but for some reason I found it a little bit more accessible. I guess because there's weight work in between segments thus giving the heart a tiny, tiny bit of a rest! Hopefully someone else can give you a little more detail. I haven't really done either that consistently to remember them by heart. They're waiting for me when I recover my cardiovascular endurance.

Does anybody know the premixes for the 4DS series? I tried to search the forum for this answer but came up with nothing.

Me too...I do alot of Cathe, and this gets me good.
